Hotel spotlessly clean, food varied and really good. Pools and beach had plenty of sunloungers, plenty of shade. Staff polite and friendly. Minor problem with light switch in room was solved in half an hour. Everything you'd expect from a Riu hotel.

Very nice hotel with access to a wonderful beach. Because it was winter, we were not able to do watersports because of the sea condition but it was still fun and kids enjoyed the park and the waterslides. Excellent destination for family.

I initially booked a week in an oceanfront room but decided to extend my stay in Sal after my flight to Praia was canceled. No other resort can compete with the RIU Santa Maria. There are at least three pools, five to six restaurants, 24 hour service. Hotel staff like Nilton at reception and the ladies at the coffee bar made my solo visit to the island much more enjoyable. The resort sent a bottle of brut to my room in recognition of my birthday (they must have noticed the date on my passport). Book room 6238 in block 6 for beautiful sea views and its proximity to the beach and pools! Also take advantage of the resort spa. Pro tip: download the RIU app to book dinners at the specialty restaurants. Food in the primary dining room is exquisite. Everything is perfect and stunningly clean. I am looking forward to a return visit one day!

Suit ruined in laundry service

A disaster the serice. You ruined me a suit that I gave for laundry with a “Delicate” message. You washed it by hand. An Hugo Boss suit. I complaint at receñtion and after 2 days I was comoletely left alone, with manager not facing the situation and the front office manager asking me to ask my personal insurance. I demand compensation I put a complaint at front desk

Struttura pulita, servizi ok. Tuttavia sottolineo un grave fatto: essendoci accorti di un furto avvenuto nella nostra camera ( nulla di costoso, una semplice barretta di cioccolato ) mi sono recato in reception per segnalare l’avvenuto. Come potete capire non é per il valore economico, ma é il fatto che qualcuno con la possibilità di entrare nella stanza si é permesso di appropriarsi di un oggetto di proprietà dei clienti (abbiamo poi guarda caso trovato a terra, nel corridoio che portava alla stanza, la cartina della barretta in questione, che essendo una barretta particolare e portata dall’Italia siamo sicuri fosse quella nostra). La cosa grave è che, riferito dell’accaduto in reception, mi sono sentito rispondere di mettere il cartello sulla maniglia della porta dove si richiedeva di non entrare nella stanza per evitare che il personale entrasse ed eventualmente rubasse qualcosa. Credo che la questione sia stata gestita molto male dal personale, dato che non siamo più stati contattati da nessuno della struttura né per una scusa né per ricevere rassicurazioni, dato che è evidente che da quel giorno in poi ci siamo sentiti estremamente a disagio stando all’interno della nostra stanza. Sottolineo che non ho ricevuto NESSUNA comunicazione o scusa né durante la permanenza in struttura né una volta effettuato il check out. Dal gruppo RIU mi aspettavo sinceramente di meglio, data la caratura della società e il costo non indifferente del soggiorno.

Camera spaziosa e pulita, distanze accettabili dai servizi nonostante le grandi dimensioni del resort. Piscine molto frequentate ma in numero sufficiente e molto ben tenute e pulite. Spiaggia molto pulita ed accessibile comodamente. Buon wifi in tutta la struttura. Begli show inclusi (per il resto animazione discreta). Vero all inclusive, compresi alcoolici e ristoranti alla carta (su prenotazione). Se i buffet sono ricchi e buoni, non lo stesso si può dire dei ristoranti su prenotazione, davvero dimenticabili Buona l'offerta di escursioni. Pubblico misto ma un po' avanti con l'età, forse dovuto alla bassa stagione europea, da dove arriva la quasi totalità dei turisti
