The picturesque village of Maria Alm is embedded between the mountains of the 'Steinernes Meer', the 'Pinzgauer Grasberge' and the Hochkönig massif in the Salzburgerland. The region around Maria Alm offers an impressive mountain scenery and green alpine meadows.
In winter, the free ski bus takes you in just a few minutes to the large Hochkönig ski area, which spans the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach am Hochkönig. This ski area offers around 120 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes, 3 fun parks, more than 30 cable cars and lifts and 30 kilometers of cross-country trails. Another well-known ski resort is the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn with no less than 270 kilometers of slopes and can be reached by car in less than 30 minutes.
The region around Maria Alm is also a well-known sports paradise in the middle of the Salzburg mountains and offers many leisure and sports opportunities, around 340 kilometres of certified hiking trails and countless kilometres of e-bike and mountain bike routes. In summer, the public swimming pools in Maria Alm and Saalfelden and the bathing beaches on Lake Zell in Zell am See offer lots of swimming fun!
From the apartment, you are in the centre of Maria Alm within 10 minutes. Here you will find several restaurants of high regional quality, a good selection of shops, an indoor swimming pool, a public outdoor pool and the tourist office. There are further shopping opportunities and restaurants in Saalfelden and the city of Salzburg can be reached in about 1.5 hours by car
