「The property is timber framed and old, really old. Cleanliness and condition is very good but this building needs constant maintenance. We loved it, it’s very old and full of history. Very cute little town, very nice surroundings. We hit it in the middle of a heat wave and there is no AC, in fact there’s likely no AC in most of the village but the normal temperature does not require it. We were just unlucky. 「Our room with a view was clean and functional. It was showing some signs of 'old age' with a bit of plaster coming off the ceiling and dated furniture but the hotel is undergoing a lot of refurbishment and modern furniture would probably not be in keeping in an older building. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good as was the bar facilities. The restaurant was pleasant and the menu typical Greene King. 「Angel Inn is close to the centre of Petworth, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a large modern bath and separate shower and everything was very clean. We appreciated the teapot in the room and selection of teas, also the complimentary flapjack. We ate in the restaurant area of the inn and had an excellent meal. 」

「Woken up at 6 am by work men fixing the path to the front entrance very annoying and also the alarm then went off on the radio The room was so so hot no fan or air con unit in sight」

「The bed was super comfy and a king size. Towels were fluffy and big. Room was hot but it was the time of the heatwave and a fan was already in the room so all good. The breakfast was delicious and loads of it. The staff were also great, particularly Jimmy who showed us to our room, he served us a pint and said that if it was not up to standard, to let him know and he’d change it! All great customer service, all round from everyone at the Nags Head - well done all!」
