This property gets 5 stars for location and atmosphere. It's a lovely, older apartment on a fairly quiet street, and is within walking distance of almost everything you'll want to visit while you're in Rome. With many restaurants, cafes, and two small grocery stores within a 5-minute walk, you'll truly feel like you're living like a local while here.
As other reviewers have mentioned, you have to walk up several floors to get to the apartment. There's a tiny, slow elevator that can fit one large person and one large suitcase, so if you're worn out after a day of sightseeing you can use that.
The only real downsides: There's a washing machine but no dryer (drying racks appear to be the norm in Rome). The AC works well, but there's one unit that serves both the living room and the adjoining bedroom, so if you want to close the bedroom door for privacy you have to shut out the cool air. The second bathroom is tiny and it's difficult to use the shower in there, so we typically used only the main bathroom shower. During very hot days, the terrace is comfortable only in the morning or late at night.
Aside from these minor complaints, we loved our stay here.
