Wonderful time in Robertson

Had a great night at this property staying with family. The staff were all super friendly and efficient, the rooms were spotless and we were on the upper level which felt a bit like you were living in a tree house, which was fab ! And the best bit....the breakfast, home cooked, best I've had in years !

Lovely one night stay

We had a great one night stay when taking the NCCR (New Cape Central Railway) wine tasting train in Robertson. Good walking distance to the raiway. Friendly staff, great beds, excellent location and stunning gardens. I especially loved the sculptures in the garden. We bought some food and wine after the train, and had a stay at home tapas dinner. The staff helped us to make a fire, and we sat outside in the fall evening enjoying the lovely outdoor space

Very comfortable room with all amenities, very good breakfast, nice pool - but beware of slippery ladder into pool! Nice seating at pool, lovely garden. Only down side is noisy street. But recommend for being very central and close to all sights, restaurants, wine estates etc.

Nice pool and garden

We enjoyed GUBAS a lot. Personal and good service. For 120 R they washed a full machine. Reallynice garden without and pool, we'll equipped and with sun and shade. Highly recommended!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen kurzen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Alle waren sehr herzlich und das Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet. Für unser Baby gab es sogar ein Babybett, welches extra hergerichtet wurde. Eine sehr sichere Unterkunft mit Parkplatz, Pool, Grill Möglichkeit und einem sehr leckeren Frühstück. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Gubas de Hoek ist eine privat geführte Unterkunft mit Pensioncharakter. Haus und Zimmer sind im typischen südafrikanischen Stiel eines Privathauses. Zimmer im Haupthaus sowie einige Gartenzimmer in separaten Gartenhäusern. Mit einem kleinen Pool und einem hübschen gemütlichen Garten haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Unsere Gastgeber haben uns herzlich empfangen und liebevoll bewirtet.

Eine gute und bestens gelegene Unterkunft. Die Gastgeber sind bemüht den Gästen alles recht zu machen. Die angebotenen Speisen sind sehr schmackhaft und reichlich. Satt wird jeder. Mit Ratschlägen und Hilfe wird dem Gast der Aufenthalt erleichtert. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wer meckert hat selbst Schuld. Bei den gebotenen Service gibt es nichts zu meckern.

Lovely Little Guest House

We received a lovely welcome by the owner. Checkin was easy, and information about the surrounding places to go was great. Room was lovely and clean (Garden room). Pool was great and breakfast was really tasty. Fantastic service overall. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in the white house which was excellent for a family, 3 bed and 3 bath. Facilities were OK, nice patio for a brai and kitchen equipped with the basics - except no oven which was odd. Furnishing was good for what we needed but a bit tired. Breakfast was lovely in the morning. It is extra if you are in the self catering but nice to have someone make for you and good quality.

Shocking customer service at 4 star Hotel

Good day, had the shock of my life at 4 **** Hotel. Had to turn around as they could not accommodate me. They advertise 2+1 sleeper rooms, but did not have a facility. Lady has no customer relations and charged About R400 extra for a floor matress. She promised to refund the money (90%) as she claimed she wants 10% at least. Needless to say, they banked the money two days later without refunding anything. I had to pay additional accommodation at another place. Perfect example of fraud and misrepresentation in my view. We also heard that our room was swopped with another family that wanted space for their baby. They checked in an hour before us.

absolute aanrader!

mooie plek in Robertson. Prachtige tuin, zwembad (schoon!), comfortabele ligbedden, kamers heel goed, begane grond kamers ook heel goed toegankelijk voor iemand die moeilijk loopt, goede bedden. eigenaren zeer aardig en behulpzaam bij het plannen van tripjes in de omgeving. de route die ons werd aangeraden was prachtig! en dan het eten, er is een set menu maar Gunther kan echt koken! we krijgen een zeer smakelijk diner elk van de twee dagen wat echt goed bereid was, verfijnd, heerlijk gebruik van kruiden en de wijnen waaruit we konden kiezen waren erg goed. al met al een absolute aanrader

Fantastic hosts, great food and feel at home style

The husband and wife who run this small historic property are welcoming, knowledgeable and just fantastic. Eating dinner and breakfast is a must with great food in an amazing historic dining room. Small pool, great service and clean rooms make it a great stay in your tour through wine country.

A Robertson must...

From the moment Balbina answered the door she never stopped trying to please us. Our bags were carried to our room in 2 minutes and she was always giving us things to do. Make sure you ask about the river cruise. We conversed with a few repeat customers which says it all.

Utmärkt

Visade sig att Robertson var en ” gömd pärla” för besök på vingårdar. Genuint och inga turistfällor, dessutom liten trevlig stad. På inrådan av Gubas anlitade vi Dave Smith som vår ”vinprovarguide” Han var fantastisk med sitt kunnande och lokalkännedom. Värt varenda rand och mer därtill. De B&B vi bott på i Sydafrika har varit prisvärda och verkligt bra. Boendet på GUBAS är nog det bästa. Mysigt trivsamt familjärt och omtänksamt. Babina och hennes personal gjorde allt för att vi skulle trivas. Detta smittade av dig på övriga gäster och bidrog till en familjär stämning. Trevligt rum med bekväm säng och utgång direkt till härliga trädgården med den lilla poolen. Bra engelsk frukost och dryckesutbudet hade vettiga priser Ja vi kunde inte haft det bättre. Rekommenderas varmt.

Good location in lovely town. Ask for quiet room

Nice place - quirky but clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely people. Our only small quibble was that our room was close to the road and opposite the primary school so the noise from 6am onwards was considerable. I imagine other rooms wouldn’t have this problem.
