Edgewater Hotel - Gatlinburg

"While it is an older hotel, it met all our needs. Our room was very comfortable and clean. I loved sitting on the balcony in the morning and the comforter on the bed actually had a little weight to it, which helped me sleep so much better than what I normally do in a hotel. While we didn't take time to use the pool, it was very nice looking and plenty of room for several to be in it. The breakfast options were also good."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was beautiful and so was the view. The view from the pool was just amazing. We only had 2 dings to mention. The first is the hotel breakfast at Altitude we were told to wait to be seated as other guests just walked past and sat down. Instead of asking them to wait in line they took their order while we waited. The staff at breakfast was completely lost. They kept asking people if they wanted to order when someone had already done it. When the food came it was cold and missing ingredients as we were told they ran out of items. A restaurant shouldn't run out of basic ingredients. The second issue was we had to keep asking them to clean the room as we would leave early and return in the late afternoon and the room was untouched. We would have to go to the lobby to ask them to clean it then sit in the lobby waiting instead of relaxing in our room."

"We had a great stay at Wander. We had trouble with our lock and getting help. When we got there, the keys they had preprogrammed didn't work. The desk staff didn't know how to program new ones and called for help 3 different times before anyone came to help. She tried to make a temporary care for us, but it wouldn't work either. We finally got that straightened out and the rest of the stay was smooth. We had a pet friendly room because we brought our dog, but the pet area was not close to our room. There may be rooms closer that are and we were just at the end of the pet friendly rooms, I'm not sure. Inside and outside pools were open, that was nice. The outside one wasn't the cleanest, but it was still ok. Breakfast was almost non-existent. There were boiled eggs, bread, bagels, and sausage patties. That's about it. We ended up having to go get breakfast. One reason we picked this one was the Continental breakfast, so that was disappointing. Overall it was a good stay though. We would stay here again with those things in mind ahead of time."

"Staff was friendly and amazing! My room was spotless every day of our trip. Beds were comfortable. They are very serious about the bear issue and believe what they tell you. First morning I woke up there was a bear in the parking lot. Didn't seem bothered by anyone walking in the parking lot either. Only complaint I have was the pool. Very cloudy and dirty. Needs to be maintained better. Slides and stairs should be power washed. I would definitely stay again though."

"5 minute walk to everything! Pools were fun for kids. Room was clean. Staff friendly. Only downside was you had to run the water for showers and baths for over 5 minutes before you had hot water. Will be back."
