"What a charming place. I just loved it! It is a dream! Lots of green areas, parking is a plus, the place is ancient, but is very well kept! The outside is so charming. The room was like... going back in time! So charming! The room had air conditioning, and the bathroom is great, quite new. Staff is extremely friendly. We had dinner there one night and food is fantastic. Their Chianti wine is so good! And the best was when I was leaving and Signore Antonio spend some precious minutes chatting with me about the history of this place, which was just incredible to hear. The place has 800+ years, but it is very well maintained. This is a beautiful hotel! I could not enjoy the beautiful swiming pool because it is November and it is chilly, and so the pool was closed. But it is a beautiful swiming pool. This place is only 10 minutes from Lucca and around 20 minutes from Pisa. "
"The hotel is in a old manor house in a small village, located about halfway between Lucca and Pisa. It was hard to find when we first arrived. If you like peace and quiet in the countryside, then this location is ideal. There are a few restaurants on the main road between Lucca and Pisa, but their opening hours are unpredictable. The hotel staff is friendly and breakfast is adequate."
"We had a wonderful time with you. Everyone was so nice and friendly to us. The breakfast and dinner was amazing. Thank you so much for a lovely memory."
"We enjoyed our stay in this lovely villa with grand common area spaces, beautiful grounds and a lovely pool. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful breakfast and sat outside in the beautiful garden. There was free parking and it was a short drive to both Pisa and Lucca. The Villa has a long history so some areas show some wear but it gives it character and everything was clean. We loved the quiet location and beautiful surroundings. I would come again! "
"We stayed in one of the outbuilding apartment. Excellent breakfast and good choices! Cappuccino is on tap. Bed is not that comfortable, but serve the purpose. Sound insulation is not that good as you can hear the next door speaking etc in the night."
Lovely villa with panoramic pool & gardens between Lucca & Pisa
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great holiday here. The owner and host Fiona is half English and went out of her way to be helpful to our three generation family group. The house is not very modern - although bathrooms and kitchen are fine - and has a steep, narrow spiral staircase inside, with a traditional Tuscan outdoor staircase giving easier access to the bedrooms upstairs. The pool and garden are delightful, raised up with lovely views of the hills around Lucca. There is also a huge shaded outdoor dining table which we used all the time. No aircon, and we had above average temperatures in low 30s while we were there, so could get hot especially in bedrooms, but fans were provided and we could open windows shaded with shutters at cooler times. Fast (c.20 mins) 54 bus service to Lucca within 5 minutes walk every 40 minutes during the day - use the stop labelled Via del Brennero Circoscrizione - and less frequent E3 to Pisa (c.50 mins) from stop San Lorenzo Vaccoli. Both buses very cheap and reliable. Recommend dowloading the Autolinee Toscane app for timetables, directions and liveupdates. We absolutely loved Lucca, and there is lots to see and do there. Good transport connections to other places."
"This is a very unique place off the beaten path, yet worth the effort if you like or love eclectic places or just the feeling. There is a beautiful garden area with random art all throughout. The smell is incredible with all the foliage. Food is good. I cannot say how much we loved the atmosphere. Beds aren’t soft, but still you sleep well enough. "
Near the one-time home and hunting grounds of the composer Puccini , this lake is at the center of a rich diversity of wetland vegetation and spectacular views.
