2 Bed in Gunnerside (oc-ds909)

A magical four-person home in a peaceful setting within pretty Gunnerside, this south-facing property offers spectacular views over the village. This Dales cottage is brimming with traditional character, and has space for four human guests plus one canine companion. In the vicinity, you’ll have a sweet pub where you can savour a refreshing pint just 300 metres away, while further afield you can marvel at sites like curious Buttertubs Pass limestone rock formations (6 miles) and the majestic Aysgarth Falls (12 miles).

Brimming with old-world charm, this quirky holiday home boasts a number of original features such as wooden ceilings, flagstone floors and an original bread oven. A stylish rustic decor adds to the period ambience. The open-plan living area is a delightful space to relax with fellow guests, whether you’re eating at the table, watching a film or roasting marshmallows on the open fire. A wonderful farmhouse-style kitchen is set along the back wall, and has everything you need for cooking up tasty dishes. Upstairs, the two bedrooms – a double and a twin – both offer gorgeous countryside views so you can start each day well. Outside, you’ll have access to a south-facing patio at the front of the property, where you can enjoy the fresh Yorkshire air.

When it’s time for a rural wander, take the dog for a walk in the Gunnerside Gill Valley (2.5 miles) or the Wain Wath and Kisdon waterfall trail (accessible from Keld, 6.5 miles). At Richmond (16 miles), experience Yorkshire town life wandering through picturesque streets, visiting the castle, or indulging yourself with some shopping. There’s even a Georgian playhouse where you can see a show if the dates are right.
