"Positives: Easy check-in; on-site parking; convenient location just outside the no-traffic zone; good bed; good breakfast; pleasant old-world ambiance.
Suggestions: 1. Give guests the ability to turn on air-conditioning even in colder weather in order to circulate air in the room. Without air, the room gets stuffy (and you can't leave the windows open because of the traffic noise). 2. Add a dresser with drawers."
"After a rather "bumpy" start the great hotel manager Flavia and her young & local, a yet commited staff (Mateo, Mathilde, each of them) made my stay at Monastero a place to remember and plan to come back with my family. The building is fantastic, very well referbished with soft shades of white that it's a joy to experience the "dolce fare niente" by the pool, wondering around the laberinth and discovering great views of the countryside and the redish roofs of Cortona from different points of views. The indoor pool though small it's a plus to unwind on a misty day. 5 days at Monastero felt short! Grazie mille Flavia and staff. Local Amaretto and biscotti will make their way to Punta del Este, Uruguay and enjoyed with so fond memorias."
"There was no air conditioning in our room. It wasn’t too hot but not really pleasant sleep. Leaving the windows open at night in the country side up in a mountain is a little scary we could get bugs or else in the room. I am sorry, but A/C is a must for a hotel this level"
"This property was fantastic. A charming hotel with a great staff, terrific location, beautiful rooms (try to get room #1). East walk to town with great restaurants and bars within feet of the location. "
"Breakfast was good not much selection though, but pastries are very good. The view to my room is spectacular. The room was very hot at midday and AC is not cooling enough that room is so warm at night."
"This was not a genuine 4 star Hotel.
It was dated with problems with the bathroom etc - sink not draining etc
Parking was absurd. 30 minutes notice required to get your car for 30 euro.
We paid nearly $350 Australian a night which was ridiculous for the Hotel quality.
It was not NH standard nor 4 star standard.
I am regular stayer at NH Hotels & generally find them good but not this one.
The stay has me seriously rethinking using Expedia going forward.
You can see from my spending with Expedia I am good regular user & never complain. But with this stay I feel very short changed "
"My stay was absolute perfection! I didn't want to leave! The location is stunning, yet close to amenities and lots of different options for sightseeing, day trips etc. Rooms were a great size and well equipped. The staff were beautiful. I found them to be so warm and friendly and the perfect blend of checking on you and your needs but not having the feeling that they were stalking. Food and wines were fabulous! I can not wait to come back again
