"A brilliant havelli hidden away in backstreets only a short distance from both fort and clock tower. The host family are incredibly helpful, keen to help arrange any activities or offer any other information as well as welcoming drinks and snacks. The evening thali meal upstairs is amazing, and the situation right under the fort with spectacular views is unbeatable. Highly recommended. We are a family of 5 with young teenagers, and in 2 days we fitted in a cookery class in a real Indian home, a jeep trip out into small villages observing local handicraft work including pottery making and textile rug weaving, as well as spotting local wildlife, a walking tour of the oldest part of the blue city and walks around the fort and other sites."

"We stayed 5 nights here, after booking on hotels.com for a room with AC and WiFi. It's by far the cleanest accommodations we've had in India (we've been here 2 weeks and have been to Dharamkot, Chandigarh, Jaipur). There's a restaurant on site, which we had for dinner on the first night. There are multiple levels of rooftop with amazing 360 view of the blue city, the fort, and other mosaic tile rooftops. We felt the breezes in the middle of summer, which is so welcome since low was 86F and high of 108F. We hear the music and song of chants from the various temples. Overall, we felt very lucky to have found this place."

"We loved our time at the Kesar Heritage Guest House - right in the heart of old Jodhpur. Some of the rooms are sheer magic - truly Rajasthani style decor. Guru responded to all our requests for food and assistance and advice with patience. "

"The room was large, clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. We got the top room 108 for a family of 4. It’s hard to find accommodation large enough but this was really nice. Kids on mattresses on floor. The manager owns 3 hotels and had everything running smoothly. Shower hot, soap and shampoo supplied. Brilliant chefs who run everything. I loved my chai and our meals. They even cooked me a requested dinner at breakfast time as I’m GF. Very nice place. Balcony on room. Great views from rooftop. Note you have to catch a tuk tuk to this hotel as the streets in old town are too narrow for cars. Our driver didn’t know it or English. But the Raj Mandir hotel organised our return taxi and tuk tuk for cheaper and it went really smoothly. This hotel is situated on the edge of the blue part. So lots of rubbish and dung outside the entrance but it gets cleared up. This is noisy with tuk Tuks and prayer bells and dogs. If you want quiet and don’t mind the walk, stay further in the blue part. I also like the castle view hotel. But those rooms are small so we couldn’t have our children in with us. But if you stay at castle view, ensure your driver drops you in the correct area because the 10 min walk with luggage was hard. In 2025 Google location doesn’t work. Not mapped. The Raj Mandir is a really nice safe place. Padlocked doors. Definitely recommend staying here. Lots to see and to 2-3 days minimum required to see it. Walking distance to the fort. Many lovely Stepwells. "
