We had a great stay here, close to Beaufort and with easy access to water, restaurants and other downtown attractions. Also, home is immaculate inside, with new kitchen appliances, other amenities & beds are very comfortable. Looks just like the pictures inside. We highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in the Beaufort area. Also, Barry was an outstanding host, always available/responsive to our questions or needs.
We had a great time in Port Royal. The neighborhood cat was a favorite for my two little boys. The space was clean and had most everything we needed. It would be nice to have a mixing bowl but otherwise the kitchen had what we needed. The house is convenient to everything you might want to see. Very enjoyable
Nice location for our stay in Beaufort. Nice cottage on outskirts of the historic area. Kutchen was supplied with everything we need (except a can opener). For computers challenged folks the televisions need instructions. A friendly cat came to say hello every morning.
Staying a week was cheaper than staying 5 days. Perfect size & location for 1-2 travelers. (Needs more living room seating for more.) Upgraded finishes when renovated, but not as “cushy” as more expensive homes. Had a bug problem because of rainy weather. Property manager responsive. Good value for the cost.
Husband and I came to Port Royal several days before our youngest son graduated from MCRD Parris Island. The cottage was exactlyvas pictured and perfectly located to explore Beaufort, the Sands Beach, small town Port Royal, and nearby dog park. It is also just 10 minutes to the parking lot next to the Peatross Parade Deck. This made the early Motivational Run on Family Day and Colors on Graduation Day easier for us. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had basics we needed. The cottage and yard were very clean. We appreciated extra quilt and blanket since SC had a cold snap for the first part of our visit. Yard was great for fetch with our 55lb dog. Someone else mentioned issue with fence. Our girl is broad, so the couple of gaps were not a problem for us. We also enjoyed sitting in the backyard --- especially once our new Marine and older son joined us. We picked up a delicious pulled pork and sides from the Smokehouse in Port Royal for a low key graduation lunch. This was perfect for our family. Another review mentioned wishing for more plates. There were more than enough for our family, at least 10 plates and several bowls and mugs. Guest soap and shampoo were a nice touch. I did not cook on this visit, but noticed appliances seemed new. We used the coffee pot in the mornings and appreciated the tea kettle for a hot mug of tea after exploring outdoors. Driveway easily fit our Tucson and older son's Camry. We would definitely stay here again.
The house is moldy. Smells strongly moldy damp. Mold is on the ceiling next to AC vents. Stayed one night before I got terrible migraines, vomiting. Owner discarded and ignored my attempts to communicate. Did not offer me a new place to stay or a refund. Gave one message offering a “spot clean,” when the whole house needs fumigation. Ignored my being sick and having to leave. Nothing.Kept sending automated emails about taking out the trash, etc. when I wasn’t there, left from being sick. Some of the houses on the street are nice. Others are overgrown with shopping carts in the yard. Possible squatters living there. Not a healthy spot.

Thoroughly disappointed
We arrived on a Friday afternoon and first noticed the mold and mildew on the front door. We looked past that and went in. The home is small, which was fine, and the decor is acceptable. The issues with the home began shortly thereafter. We brought our dog since the home is pet friendly but the backyard has little grass so it was a giant mud pit. In the living room, there is one small couch and one reclining chair. The chair was broken with the cushion falling through and the reclining aspect not working, which was unacceptable for my husband who has back issues and was looking forward to relaxing after the drive in. As the evening fell, we realized that the light on the back porch didn't work, which made letting our dog outside in a mud pit more difficult to deal with and clean up after. Next, we discovered when trying to watch a tv show that the tv had colored streaks running all down it when turned on. We tried to maintain a good attitude but, when planning for the next morning, realized there was no coffee and no basic cooking supplies like salt and pepper or oil. These things are not required, of course, but only added to a poor experience after everything else mentioned. Saturday morning we decided to leave early. I reached out to the property manager and did not receive a reply for over 24 hours. We have stayed in dozens of VRBO's and have never had a less than 4 star experience until this one. We are not hard to please but do expect things to work, at minimum.
