Staff at Check-in were friendly. Disappointed that we didn't get the room that we asked for. Dont assume that when you pay for a waterview room that you will get one. Once again we got a 1st floor park view with a glimpse of the ocean. Even after requesting a top floor unobscured view a month prior and ringing to check 3 days before. Room wasn't as clean as it could have been. Orange juice spilled in the fridge, coffee table not cleaned marks and dust around bathroom skirting boards. Handwash with hair conditioner in shower instead of shampoo no shower cap. Aircon leaked onto the carpet.

A great hotel almost on the waterfront. You can see the ocean from your patio. The patio makes up for the smaller room size. Easy walking to the Jetty, beach and lots of restaurants. The room is a bit smaller but found for a night or two. Safe, secure, parking, great hotel staff.

So this property looks fantastic but there are some downsides. Let's start with the positives. It is right across the road from the beach and on the outskirts of the CBD so it is convenient to walk everywhere and the facilities such as the pool are fantastic. It looks modern and refreshed from the outside and the lobby. But that is where it stops. The courtyard view room is more like a view on some empty blocks, run down buildings and graffiti. The rooms are a good size but very dated with paint chips on the walls, doors that are scratched and damaged and the carpet just looks old. But it gets worse, there is an air conditioner but it is in the loungeroom only and wasn't working very well so would not cook the room and there was no hope of getting any cool air to the bedroom due to it's positioning, whilst the bedroom did have a fan it was fighting an loosing battle against the air-conditioning unit that was blowing it's hot air against the glass door to the bedroom, meaning a cool nights sleep is not possible in this room. To top it all off the smell in the hallway outside the lifts where the rubbish shoot was smelt like the demons of hell had escaped and were coming to get you. A nice location but an old and tired hotel that is not worth the premium price
