The house was completely renovated in 2024 and is set in a large garden bordered by pine trees, just 500 metres from the beach. This is our third gite project. It has a three-star classification for furnished holiday accommodation.
Looking for some rest? The house is in a quiet area and the 900 m2 garden is the perfect place for a little siesta in an armchair.
Fancy a bit of sport? Bikes are available for hire at the port (we'll give you the addresses). Portbail has a sand yacht base, a sailing school, miles of beach and coastal paths for walking and cycling, a riding school and a golf course in neighbouring Barneville-Carteret.
A footpath and cycle path will take you to the centre of the little town along the harbour if you want to leave the car behind. You'll find all the shops you need and a good choice of restaurants, bars and services.
The house is on one level (just a small step to enter) and has a very bright living room with a comfortable lounge, a fitted kitchen, a dining area, a bedroom (bed 140x190) opening onto a shower room and WC.
The Japanese staircase visible from the living room leads to a small storage room that is closed to guests.
Portbail, in addition to its own assets, is an ideal base for visiting the English Channel (Cotentin and Bessin marshes, Mont Saint Michel bay, Granville, Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue and Tatihou island, Carteret, Utah beach and Sainte mère église...).
The Channel Islands (Jersey in particular) can be reached by regular shuttle bus from Carteret (around 7km) throughout the tourist season (ask the Portbail-sur-mer tourist office for details and obligations).
