"Just about the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in the top. Recently renovated, and it shows. Our third-floor room had a huge balcony with an overhang for shade, and French doors opening onto it from both the bedroom and the bathroom. I never thought a toilet needed a sea view. You get one here, looking out at the Adriatic glistening and rippling, and I don't think I can settle for less going forward. Pay for the sea view. Opened in 1884 as a spa retreat for the Habsburgs. That Austro-Hungarian architecture runs through the hotel and the whole town, so different from the rest of this coast. Breakfast is excellent. The terrace pigeons are extremely aggressive, which keeps the entertainment high. Classic Adriatic stone beach with ladders and steps, but just to the side there's a sandy-bottomed section where you can stand chest-deep and play ball games. The spa is included: two Finnish saunas, a Turkish steam room, and beautiful showers with Lanvin products. We barely used our own shower. You're right in the center, which matters because some Opatija hotels are remote. Roko, one of the best restaurants in town, is across the street. A comparable room in Sicily would run $500 to $600 a night. This isn't close. I'm definitely going back."

"A perfect stay in a very nice hotel that, warrants 5 stars. The view was amazing and we even got treated to a late night firework display literally outside our balcony. The only gripe was as I was on the main floor by reception, it did get a bit noisy but it wasn't that big of a deal for me because everything else made it worth it."

"We had an amazing time. Our room overlooked the pool and the historic downtown. I'm very picky on location, amenities, design and access to the sea. This one checked all the boxes. It's perfectly located on the promenade and a short walk to all the action downtown. Glad we picked this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Bravo 👏👏"

"We enjoyed our stay very much, very comfortable room, great location, the infinity pool and bar are awesome, friendly staff, convenient car parking and the buffet breakfast is fantastic. Only downside is our “park view” room was rather dim but didn’t worry that much as we were only in our room after dark mostly."

"This was an excellent place to stay in Opatija, right on the water with easy access to swim in the sea, but also with an indoor pool (opening glass ceiling for nice weather) for gloomy days. Easy access to walking through town and restaurants. Amazing breakfast buffet with a variety of foods, very service oriented staff along with a prosecco greeting at check in. Rooms we updated and clean. Can't recommend enough."
