"Really enjoyed our time at the Little Cow House. Starting with the very warm welcome from our lovely hosts and delicious welcoming homemade cake. The house is very nicely furnished, immaculately clean and very well equipped, and is warm and cosy; you can hear the river rushing in the valley below and the rooms have lovely views of trees and fields. Would like to come back and visit again in the summer to really make the mot of the great walks and sights in the area."

"The Corn Store was just as the pictures showed. It’s a pretty Cottage in a peaceful location with many local amenities. We only had a few days but felt we had seen and done a lot. The cottage itself was very comfortable, the dining area sat five of us around the kitchen table and there were plenty of comfy chairs in the sitting area for after supper. The Hand Hotel Llangollen by Compass Hospitality

"The booking clerk was quite brusque and was unable to give any information about activities in the area. This was unsurprising, as the same man was doing the bar, reception and taking and serving food orders on our first night - no sign of anyone else! The room had a good view of the lovely looking garden with picnic tables and view of River Dee. Unfortunately, it remained padlocked throughout our stay. The room was a good size with twin beds, but laid out so that you had to crane your neck to see TV. Closed captions/subtitles for the hard of hearing had been requested and the man at the desk had sorted it in advance. Beds were comfortable. There was one working heater and one which did not work. Towel rail in bathroom did not work and, at times, the plumbing was noisy. We did not order breakfast (extra charge). On the second evening, we did request to buy a meal but we were told there would be no food this evening, "We have a party of 60 to serve" so ate out for the rest of our stay. The room cleaner did a good job with the tools available. Having to sign in with all our details on-line prior to arrival is unsatisfactory - as is paying for parking separately from the booking. When there was an intermittent fire alarm during one night we were given no formation whether it was all-clear or whether it was a false alarm. Fire alarm was very good one and loud with a flashing red light - good for someone with hearing loss. Overall: Adequate."

"Where do I start we got to the hotel on the first night go to the room to find there was no bedding for the kids we got charged for breakfast the next day for the kids the staff are useless the pool was closed by 7pm even tho is stated it was open till 9pm all the carpets in the hall way were taped down or ripped up the place is a joke for the price we paid"

"Not the nicest view from our window, we overlooked the air conditioning units and the bins, advertised as courtyard view on hotels.com! The hotel however was lovely, room immaculately clean and very comfortable. The restaurant was nice and the food excellent. The spa was amazing, best massage I’ve ever had. I would definitely stay again but would probably book the room directly with the hotel next time."

"A lovely property with tasteful decor. All the staff are very pleasant. Palm Court restaurant was really nice, and the gym and swim facilities were good. The Sunday carvery is excellent and complimentary products in the room a nice touch. Not a lot of seating in the bar if wanting drinks only, most of it is for eating. Similarly, car parking is at a premium with a wedding on. Changing rooms are quite small, and could do with a spin machine for drying trunks (many have these now)."
