The road when dry is not that bad. It is 4 miles to Queens Pond. That doesn't have facilities, but is closer than driving to the main park area. Jeeps and SUVs make it a much easier trip than the average rental car (which we did see on the road). This beach is a must.
Always allow extra time for a trip to Hanalei, as the road in and out is often congested.
I would HIGHLY recommend the snorkeling excursion and the ATV adventure. Amazing !!!

Beautiful! But the dirt road to access is rough and long. Plan ahead and take food & water. Would be scary to drive back in the dark.
