Our family of 5 (3 generations) stayed in San Gioveto (4 bedroom, 3 bathroom) for a week. It was beautiful, inside and out. The pool and the view there are wonderful. The decor, art, and furniture are gorgeous and the kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and everything you need to cook. We ate all breakfasts, some lunches and one dinner in our villa. The town of Poggibonsi provided all that we needed and we had two great meals there, too. Florence was an hour away by train (easy) and Siena about a half hour away by car (also easy). We enjoyed day trips to both places, plus Castellina in Chianti (beautiful sleepy town with a great tower museum, easy to climb and see the area), Lucca and Pisa. We would come back here for certain. San Gioveto does not have a bedroom nor bath on first floor, so guests need to be able to handle stairs. (Casale Villore has other ground floor options, which we would choose for grandparents next time.) The master suite on the third floor is a climb, but gorgeous - cool stone walls, big breezy windows, just lovely. The weather in June was perfect - 75 - 85 Fahrenheit at all times during daylight. Americans, be prepared for small showers and hard beds (both seem to be ubiquitous in Italy). Our showers all worked very well - good temp and pressure, just very little elbow room. This is a perfect place to relax in place, or as home base for your Tuscan adventures. Thank you to Antonio and Alicia for a wonderful stay!
