"Property was nice staff was great. Upgrading to star class is a must. The food at the buffet is not good but the a la carte restaurants are good steakhouse by far the best. Website says they have a pool table but they do not. Drinks were really good especially at the lobby bar. I booked excursions from the guy at the beach a lot cheaper and the excursions were really good. Make sure you bring cash. I would definitely go back again"

"If you are expecting the wind, then it’s a great resort! I should have realized that it would’ve windy with all the windsurfing in the area. Once we got used to that, we did really enjoy the place. Quite quiet. Our favorite parts of the area were all the beaches in the other side of the peninsula and some of the fantastic dining. Lapa Lapa had a great atmosphere, fantastic food, and some nice beach chairs. ‘The naked Indian restaurant just next to the resort had unbelievable food. "

"My husband and I stayed at Santa Elena Lodge for 3 nights while visiting Cuajiniquil for birding and natural history. We were told the lodge was constructed from reclaimed wood and built by the family who still run it today. It is quite a stunning structure. The gardens are lovely. The food was probably the best we had on a 9 day trip to some natural areas of Costa Rica - generous portions at every meal and good coffee There are many natural areas to visit to see birds and other wildlife and there is a reference guide in each room expaining in detail where to find these areas. Owners and staff were also very knowledgeable. This area and the lodge is authentic and undisturbed by the excessive tourism of some other areas. The staff at the lodge are very, very friendly, rooms very clean. I recommend this lodge and area for true nature lovers. "

"The property manager and staff are lovely. Everything else was underwhelming. It was hard to locate and there was a locked gate with no instructions for how to get in. The property looked nice from the photos but the images did not accurately represent the small, dark rooms and the fact that it’s a cluster of little studio motel rooms. It has the feel of a fixer upper motor lodge. It has tons of potential; just still needs work and wasn’t at all what we were led to believe we were renting. It’s overpriced for what it is. "
