Llevant Beach

Levante Beach showing a coastal town, a sandy beach and general coastal views
One of the Costa Blanca’s finest beaches is loved by locals and vacationers alike for its soft sand, crystalline water, busy promenade and nightlife.

Long-time Benidorm residents, families, couples and partygoers all descend upon the glorious setting of Levante Beach (Playa de Levante). This coastal treasure in one of Spain’s busiest resorts is the ideal place to cool off from the hot summer sun and go swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. Levante Beach is where the sun first shines on the town. Come early to watch the sunrise and stick around to watch the action unfold.

The golden-sand beach stretches for around 1.2 miles (2 kilometers) along the shore of the Mediterranean and slopes gently down into inviting waters. You’ll be amazed by the constantly pristine condition, which is the result of a nightly cleaning initiative operated by the town council. A series of brightly colored markers serve as meeting points and make it easy for you to locate friends and family.

Be sure to take a rejuvenating swim and try watersports such as Jet Skiing, parasailing and water-sledding. The water is shallow and lifeguards are on duty during the summer season. Children can have fun at the playgrounds and watching artists build sand sculptures. Relax and enjoy the views from the comfort of a rented sun lounger.

A popular beach activity is to climb to the Balcón del Mediterráneo. This lookout terrace has uninterrupted views of Benidorm’s world-famous coastline. Linger a while and wait for the natural geyser to shoot water high into the air.

A paved promenade borders the entire length of the beach. Along the promenade are various dining options with open-air seating and sea views. Have breakfast before hitting the beach, grab an ice cream, dine on paella and sip on ice-cold beers. After sunset, street lights illuminate the promenade and resemble a string of pearls.

Levante Beach is a short walk from Benidorm Centro and the Old Town. Get here from Poniente Beach on the tourist train. Parking is available for a fee on the resort’s streets. May to October and weekends year round are the busiest times.
