"Friendly welcome from reception at check in. Spotless room but no heating on à very cold day. Given à portable heater until central heating kicked in. Good food in restaurant . Very friendly barman in evening and waiting staff at breakfast were extremely efficient and welcoming. Would definitely visit again."

"The property itself was a lovely upstairs room, generous in size and very close to the rail station with a direct line to Edinburgh. We had a two night stay and found the bed to be very comfortable. A generous soak bath tub is in the main bedroom. Little snacks were a pleasant gift. Small issues were disappointing.On arrival there was no soap in the container and We were disappointed that despite asking for the room to be serviced, the soap was not replenished, toilet paper not replenished and...

"Always enjoy staying at the Woodlands. The staff are always the best, the food in the restaurant is always excellent (particularly the steak casserole) and the bar is a cosy wee spot to just sit in and relax."
