We hadn’t expected this place to be as nice as it was - it’s a glorious setting and a really comfortable space with a lovely communal seating area and lots of great outside space including a short but energetic mountain climb. The breakfast is delicious and the room was extremely comfortable. We were only passing through but would happily have stayed longer.
Everyone was super kind and energetic! The owners helped us find places to eat/ hang out, the room was clean, comfortable and beautiful! Plus, breakfast was AMAZING! My husband is STILL talking about it :). We will definitely go back.
Everything about our stay was amazing! It’s an absolute beautiful peaceful place and I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know and we will be back there for sure!
Everything about Meadow Creek Lodge was absolutely perfect! Huge kudos to Rob and Ann...not just for being two of the kindest and most gracious people you’ll ever meet, but for also doing such an incredible job with the property. And Rob cooks some seriously amazing breakfast! I couldn’t nitpick a single negative if I tried, and I look forward to coming back for another visit. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation!
We stayed in the single cabin and we loved it. It was a nice little getaway for us. Despite the forest fires it was still a gorgeous setting and very relaxing.
Anne welcomed me and oriented me to the lovely property. I had the place to myself!! Tea and sauna were delicious. But Breakfast by Rob, the owner was outstanding and filling. It was incredible and I felt very pampered. A sweet spot at 8200 feet so bring your family.
As an older active couple we found MC a disappointment based on high ratings. Beautiful location and could be 4 or 5 star with some upkeep and a very good cleaning. We selected the separate cabin in the meadow for our two day stay. Initial appearance was exciting but once we occupied unit we found how lacking it was. It is billed as small and intimate but we found the place "just" dirty and tried to overlook it. Clean towels and sheets were provided. Screen door did not fit so bugs, gnats, flies and moths inside. Had a King bed but for us the mattress was too soft. Very low toilet and small shower. Hot tub in room puts off odor and cycles throughout the day - meaning it comes on 2-3 times at night in a very quiet setting. Local water tasted and smelled terrible...so bring bottled water (some provided). Two FOLDING chairs provided for deck which needs upkeep badly. When we arrived we had no clue where to go for check in. - which door? 9am breakfast is too late for us and was ok. Visiting with other guests always a plus. The Elk in the meadow was a real plus too.
This property was a great discovery. We needed to spend the night in the area to accommodate retrieval of our daughter from camp the next morning. The reviews were stellar...so, we booked it. They were very gracious in understanding our situation...late arrival and early departure. The place has a rustic and comfortable appeal...beautiful well maintained mountain setting! Awesome breakfast! Friendly owners and staff! We’ll be back again!
I absolutely LOVED this property and Jayne and Rob's care and concern, which went above and beyond anything I have experienced, and I travel a great deal. I arrived later than expected and they had everything ready to roll for me. I felt like I was back home after a long trip!
The lodge itself is just gorgeous and the breakfast was huge and delicious. Rob even ensured I was taken care of despite my gluten intolerance.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take full advantage of the outdoors as I had to head off quickly, but I will definitely try to get back for a longer stay. Thank you, Jayne and Rob!
My girlfriend and I planned this weekend out post holidays to get away from the daily and weekly grind. We arrived on Friday night. Once we got settled and saw our accommodations, which were incredible, we enjoyed a snow fall hot tub experience. It was amazing. They also have a sauna. All of their rooms are amazing and feature different settings based on your need, like if you are traveling with children, they have larger rooms. The accommodations were wonderful. The breakfast in the morning was complementary and made from scratch. Wonderful experience all around. I highly recommend this as a weekend getaway for romance in the winter. We are definitely going to try to return in the summer months during hiking season. It really was an amazing and authentic experience that is unrivaled.
This was by far the best place I have found to stay in all of my travels. I had never visited the area and didn't know where to stay. When searching I kept coming back to this place and finally booked it. It was the best decision. The location was very clean and comfortable. The staff (Mrs. Ann and Temple) were so gracious and inviting. Mrs. Ann made us breakfast every morning and it was amazing! When we left we felt like we were leaving family! I highly recommend it and we will be heading back out during warmer weather so we can hike the 34 acres.
beautiful property, makes you want to just sit and enjoy the day. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the main hot tub is great and some rooms have private hot tubs. Hiking trails start right on the property.
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. What a fantastic experience! This was our first time in Colorado and Rob was so helpful in letting us know about some of the local places to visit and gave us some great tips on dinner locations. Our private little cabin in the meadow was great, we had our own private deck & even a hot tub in our room! We cannot wait to come back and will definitely will be staying at Meadow Creek again!
This is hands down one of the best Bed and Breakfast's I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Everyone was amazing, The food was Delicious, The rooms were beautiful. I will definitely be staying here next time I am visiting Colorado, and hopefully will make it an annual visit! Highly recommended. Great stay.
A group of us rented out this bed and breakfast. Being involved in business, I am fairly familiar with the bed and breakfast scene. Typically the home owner will work around the group, even dividing breakfast into an early morning and late morning event to accommodate flights etc. After all, what is the true purpose of a bed and breakfast but to provide a more personal catered experience than a hotel. Half of our group was leaving early whereas the other half was leaving late. This owner did not accommodate us at all. Instead told us brusquely that breakfast was served at 9am and then when questioned about early breakfast he stated he would show us how to turn the coffee machine on. He commented on some stale sweets that looked like they had been under glass for a few days. The rooms were dated, but clean. I was very disappointed with this stay, I paid a high price for a room I was barely in and did not get breakfast. If you have a tight schedule, perhaps you are better looking elsewhere.
Beautiful setting but the owner, Rob, did not make us feel at all welcomed. We were greeted with extra charges and accused of not communicating despite numerous phone calls, meetings, and emails. Bride ended up in tears. Guests staying at the lodge were given a lecture on the 'rules.? The rules turned out to be so numerous and nit-picky that they became a standing joke amongst the bridesmaids/groomsmen. There are far more than the two mentioned online or in brochures: ?We have Two Rules here at Meadow Creek: Relax and be on time for Breakfast.? Rob provided some hints as to the importance of the second rule when he told us that breakfast would not be all-you-can-eat but rather just enough to hold us over. Who would actually say that aloud to paying guests?!! Translation: Be on time or there might be nothing left! Expect small portions with no hope for seconds. As a side note: the website proclaims, ?Meadow Creek's friendly family staff is known locally for specialty dishes, such as Blueberry/Cheese filled French Toast and other homemade delights.? We got plain scrambled eggs, hash browns, some fruit, and miniature store-bought danish. I?ve had far better food and far friendlier service at Denny?s.
Overall, we felt like intruders rather than welcomed guests. Owner seemed unhappy the whole time. Rarely smiled, made eye contact, or responded to our polite greetings. Did not inquire as to our happiness. Berated his staff. Did not say good-bye or wish us well for the future. Overall a nasty undercurrent to a beautiful event.
