Great location. Hospitality at its absolute best.

We certainly enjoyed our stay in this historic property. The rooms in the common areas were quite palatial, featuring high ceilings and appropriate furnishings of an era gone by. The service offered by our concierge Ana was simply outstanding. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome, checked in our bags before the room was ready, provided directions to the meeting point on a local tour, and then messaged me when the room was ready for check in. All other staff members were equally helpful. I must mention how much we enjoyed the breakfast each day where they served a wide variety of items and delicious coffee in a beautiful dining room accompanied by a pianist and often a violinist playing soothing classical music. The hotel itself is located on a hill close to the Rossio Square and other attractions on the Tagus River. We found walking down the hills to be pleasant enough and used Bolt to book rides back to the hotel. We took advantage of the daily 4PM wine offer served with olives and cheese in a lovely shaded garden. There we also enjoyed cocktails mixed at the bar with other beverages available for purchase. We also reserved the three course Fado dinner served in a special room with live entertainment. Rooms in similar hotels are often a bit small and this was no exception, especially the bath room. A door did open out to the balcony, the wifi and AC worked well. The floors all have elevator service. I would recommend!

Breakfast was good

Great hotel, very central and nice size rooms for europe! Good linens. Rooms are a tad more tired in person and we did not get the room we had booked due to some last minute water damage but staff were very apologetic and helpful. Decent breakfast as well. Would recommend.
