Spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel, Peter was great and very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent but unfortunately they were not doing evening meals. We stayed in room 11 on the top floor with sea view, you can lie in bed and look out to sea. The room was very nice with en-suite decorated to a high standard. It is obvious a lot of money has been spent and the work is still ongoing as a new deck is being built. Will definitely return as we love Torbay and this hotel is in a premium location.
Peter & Ruth were from arrival to departure charming. Location for Paignton or Torquay in walking distance. We walked through parks woodland & coastal coves for 2 & a hour hour to Brixham.
In Paignton our favourite dinner restaurant was Harbour light, lunch Mollys which have live music on weekends.
TJ’s casual good crab.
Coffee & Sundaes at Sarah’s on the beach hut 4mins walk from hotel.
We found Hamilton restaurant in Babbacombe which was fabulous again we walked from hotel 1 & 20 mins but be warned up hill a lot of the last 30 minutes.
The suite we had was room 3, a glass terrace gave us outside space to relax with sea view at our feet almost.
We had a weeks stay at the Channel View Hotel, the hotel is located in a quiet part of Paignton, right next to the sea, with plenty of parking, adults only. The hotel is very nice and with recent refurbishments looks fresh. The owners and staff are very friendly and efficient, the room had everything we could require, en-suite bathroom with shower. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic, from pastries, yoghurt, cereal, fruit and the cooked fried breakfast lovely and MASSIVE, getting you ready for the day ahead. Well recommended.
We had a wonderful stay here - locatio was superb and the hotel was lovely and clean and room was extremely comfortable with a beautiful sea view. Very relaxing with lots to do close by. Would highly recommend this hotel.
The sea views across Torbay are lovely, from the hotel you can see Torquay, Paignton and over to Brixham. Room was spotless and the breakfasts set you up for the day with a great choice. Peter & Ruth are always on hand for any queries or help you need.
I loved the hospitality provided by Peter and Ruth. Breakfast and the bar service are good. I would definitely recommend anyone staying in this family run hotel. Worth the amount you pay.
From stunning views from the hotel of the stretch of the coast from torquay to Brixham to comfortable accommodation, with attention to detail, from the start to finish we felt welcome and cared for all with great customer service. The room was beautiful and well finish, cleanliness being top of the list I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the stay
The hotel is in a perfect location. Right in the centre of Torbay with panoramic sea view from Torquay round to Brixham. The owners were very friendly and helpful, room was immaculately clean, breakfast beautifully cooked. The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer!
The Channel View Hotel was a lovely family run hotel with an excellent position on the sea front. Peter and Ruth where very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and we could not fault anything with our stay. Would recommend it .

Upon arrival and during my short stay I was made very welcome - a very well run family business with a particular attention to having a spotless environment. I arrived late and missed the evening meal, however they rustled up a delicious spaghetti bolognese at a moments notice due to my work commitments not giving me time to go seek food elsewhere. This is the type of service that sets a family run business apart from your generic corporate travel inns!
I'd overheard comments that one previous guest thought the hotel dog was a crazed animal - this is simply not the case - rather its a small well mannered quiet animal that is friendly towards everyone!! (...and i'm a cat person!)
Would recommend this hotel to any people looking for a scenic view of the bay with ample parking.
Ruth and Peter are both super-friendly and are passionate about Paignton and the surrounding area. The setting and the view is brilliant, their service is very personal and they make a tasty breakfast with gluten-free options available.

Could be better value
The proprietors of this hotel are lovely, the bar and restaurant area are very well presented. We stayed in room 11 which was on the top floor with gorgeous views to the front. The hotelier have us a forum to chill in for breakfast which seemed sensible - choose your cooked breakfast ready! Unfortunately this is where our positives end. The room was relatively small and the bathroom (shower room) was cramped and made me feel drunk, the floor was not level and the ceiling very low, tall people beware! There was no air con or fan available and the room was unbelievably warm even with the window open, unfortunately compounded by a thick and unevenly filled duvet. The breakfast was overall disappointing with cheap ingredients that lacked flavour, not what I expected for the cost of the room. The area where the hotel is situated is not the greatest but that's not the hotels fault but again the price was steeper than I really think it warranted. The hotel was obviously perfect for others, just not to our taste.
