「large premises with nice grounds, good location for Cathedral etc, seems the General Manager ovesees most tasks , The room #1 was clean but could fo land we could leave cases in room ahead of the official check in time. It fell apart however with the evening meal which we did not enjoy. The GM wore scruffy paint splattered trousers and this was distracting , years ago it was the diners who were encouraged to dress a bit smart, which we did in those days. the lamb was tough and the veg....

「The hotel was a bit tricky to find, you have to be organised and check-in in advance and I had to chase up the check-in details on the day because they weren't sent to me. Communication was otherwise good. I was right at the top of the building so it was very hot, but the room was comfortable if a little worn, with peeling wallpaper and a squeaky bed. This all sounds negative, but it was perfectly serviceable, clean, and with good in-room facilities. There was also a shared kitchen which was...

「This was an an enjoyable experience, particular for a sole traveller. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the proprietors were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast (which was very good food) was an enjoyable social experience meeting other guests that you do not tend to get with staying at a larger chain hotel. Very relaxing and quiet rural location, easy for getting out and visiting Ely or Cambridge. 」
