The property was advertised as having two king suites, which is why we choose to stay here. After our arrival we discovered there was only one king bed and the second was a queen bed. This ultimately caused my daughter and son-in-law to stay in the twin beds in the kids room.
Upon arrival we discovered the toilet seat in the master bath was broken and unusable. We notified the owner and there was no offer of repair. We chose to fix it so that we had a usable bathroom. She did not say thank you or offer to reimburse for the cost of the parts.
We arrived with no hand towels, no washcloths, no kitchen towels or soaps or many other things listed on the website. Initially we were only able to find seven bath towels. We later located four more in the dryer. Given that there is a placard in the bathroom about missing or stained towels being charged at a rate of $40 each, this was disconcerting. We had eight people and only 7 towels and NO washcloths, hand towels or kitchen towels.
The thermostat is controlled off site and is set at 78 degrees. There's a nice plaque on the wall that says it is set to a comfortable temperature of 78 and we are allowed to move it two degrees. Unfortunately even if you do change it two degrees, it only stays there for a few hours. In other words, you can’t even get through the night without being at 79 F and waking up drenched in sweat. It was 65 F outside for a couple of days, but we were not able to open the doors to cool off the house without it shutting down the heat in the pool (which we paid extra for) and resetting the HVAC to 78F.
We cleaned the pool table (which was filthy), fixed the toilet and in general left property in better shape than it was in when we arrived. After leaving we received a message stating that we broke a window blind but would not be charged because it would be turned into insurance. We did not break the blind, however we had purchased insurance and this was likely a good opportunity to get it fixed by the owner.
This property could be wonderful, however our trip was very difficult.
