2/10
Wow!!! Where do I begin? This has had to be the worst rental experience of my life. It all started after driving 8 hours, we get to our unit and the code the management company sent us is incorrect. So we call the management company and left several messages. We then called their emergency number and again left several messages. VRBO sent me an email asking how our check in went and I responded I was not able to get in. Shortly a VRBO rep. called and he attempted to locate the management company but to no avail.
VRBO then offered to rent us 2 rooms for 10 people even though the max was 4 to a room. I suggested 3 rooms and they said it was over their budget. I explained I had 7 people and that the home I rented was a 4 bedroom they denied it.
After 3 and ½ hours my daughter was able to track down the management owner through FaceBook and was able to call him directly on his cell phone as he has a Real Estate company in Orlando. He then gave us an emergency code that we used throughout our stay. Our problems did not end there. First the garbage disposal broke the second day there, and the maintenance guy said the owner lived in Brazil and they were cheap and would not fix it while we where there. The pool’s heater did not work and the maintenance guy said again, she would not fix it because she does not have the money. They have a grill that doesn't work. The beds are hard as a rock they give you 8 towels for a 10 person home. They have an ironing board but no iron. The can opener is rusted to the point it does not work. Clearly this is an owner that has no business owning this home as they cannot afford to keep it up. I am, and have been a vacation rental owner for many years and it does take a lot to maintain these units. If you can’t afford it then you should get out and allow those who can to do so.
I am surprised that VRBO has this quality of owners in their system, so with that being said I will go through an agency next time.
