"Hotel was in a great location for grabbing a bite to eat and getting to and from UC Berkeley. Plenty of parking which was fairly secure (they closed one gate at night).
Staff was super friendly at check-in, which was quick and efficient.
Rooms were dated but clean and comfortable. Hotel itself could use a 'refresh' but it was still a nice place to stay. Televisions in room had limited channel access.
Continental breakfast (6-9am) had plenty to eat, although at 8:15 when we headed to eat, many of the items were low stock (OJ, cereal, waffle mix and syrup).
Make sure to bring your own hairdryer, our room was not stocked with one.
For the price and location, we would definitely stay here again"
"Booked very far in advance for a “water view” room, and when I checked in was given a first floor room that was very small and directly faced the pool. The pool was probably about 15 feet outside our window, with a walkway, only several feet away from our outside window. When I went back to ask the staff for a different room, one that was further away from the pool because we had to wake up very early in the morning, they accommodated us, but kind of had an attitude about it. We eventually moved up to a third floor room at the far end of the hotel, and into a room which was nearly double the size as the original room, and had an actual water view. It was very nice. I guess they reserve the crappy rooms for the Expedia members. Would recommend the hotel call these other rooms “pool view”. The amenities inside the hotel were excellent, but the surrounding area is kind of sketchy with a lot of homeless and encampments set up nearby."
"The hotel is older. The rooms were a bit small and the bathroom/shower really small. The staff was amazing though and very helpful. Our AC was not working properly. I thought it was just because the hotel was older. It slowly got worse. By the time the room was like a sauna I said something and the staff was on it. They brought a portable AC window unit to the room immediately. The also offered to let us move rooms. The hotel is in a great location. Right close to BART and a little campus Target."
