"The shallow pool was great for our beginner swimmers and the big pool was nice for everyone else. We enjoyed the pools a lot. Breakfast was typical but with many options and the staff was great, especially Ruby. "

"WONDERFUL STAFF BUT the walls may have been actually made of paper they were so paper thin, I could actually put my foot under the door separating the rooms, and I could see through to the outside from the sides and under of the front door. The staff was amazing from check in through the stay. There was an incident involving an extremely intoxicated man and the staff handled it great. But until the property itself is actually maintained with proper doors and walls (that I could hear entire conversations, like not even muffled, and even said goodbye to our neighbors through the walls), I would never stay here again even if you paid me. It is too bad because the property itself is in a great location, has potential to be really cute, again, STAFF WAS AMAZING, but even without the incident of the crazy person, the fact that you can see through the doors to the outside, could stick my foot through to the other room, and walls so thin I could hear the person actually breathing, I won’t stay again. "Was supposed to stay at The Welk , a Hyatt vacation club resort in Escondido, it was awful (including the service and room). We left within 20 mins of being there. Drove straight to the Omni in Carlsbad. This hotel and staff were AMAZING! From the registration desk, the food, rooms, pools, grounds, all of it. Impeccable service and incredibly clean. It was a true Oasis. We ended up staying an extra night because we loved our experience. I can’t wait to go back. "
