"I grew up in MN and had never been to Grand View Lodge. Decided to take my husband "up north" to experience the vibe, and GVL was the best way to introduce him to that! We had a wonderful stay at the newer hotel-type property. Room was well decorated, bed very comfortable, great coffee bar and lobby to enjoy so we did not have to leave the building in the morning for our daily coffee. "Shady Hollow deserves an easy 5 star rating. My husband and I stayed with our 5 children aged 1-8, and it was perfect. We all enjoyed the beach, beautiful lake view, swimming, paddle boards, fishing, pedal boat and kayaks, which was included in the cost. The lake was shallow enough for our kids to play safely and there were plenty of toys on the beach for them to use and build sand castles. "We couldn’t check in until four in the afternoon and had to be out by 10 in the morning on Sunday, and so even if you have two nights you feel as if you only had one day. The price was rather high for just one full day…. And two nights . It wasn’t on the lake but It was a clean and a decent rental unit."

"This cabin was perfect for the two families that stayed here this weekend. The cabin was very clean and just as described in the listing. Such a private space, big yard to play games in, great fire pit and dock to the water. Communication with the host was always very helpful and timely- she was great to deal with!
