「This place was a special place for us. The team at Karatu really were special who did out of their way to provide for us when there were issues, and when the first room seemed to have issues (shower drainage, bee hive on the roof, urine smell) they quickly changed the room to a better closer room, and always were helpful in arranging or finding different solutions for transportation issues etc. The place is located 2 hours from Arusha, and around 30 mins from the main gate for Ngorongoro crater....

「We had a beautiful stay at Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge. The staff was wonderful and very kind, especially Jumo. A portion of the money from your stay goes to the children's home located next to the hotel, which you are able to visit while staying there. The area and view around the hotel are beautiful, however there is a bumpy uphill road to reach the hotel. The dining room is a beautiful space as well and we had a wonderful meal there! 」

The room is large it had two king size bed and a fireplace a sitting area. we stayed at this Four Season in the Serengeti. this was comparable for a lot less money. I would stay here again. In fact, we extended our stay one day just to enjoy the service and the food. It is definitely a jewel.」

We rented a dud 4x4 and it would not start after we checked in - but Eli jumped in an d organized mechanics to come and then drove with us to take the car to the mechanics once they had gotten a new battery in. The car had no brake or transmission fluids and an corroded alternator wire - Eli stayed at the mechanic while we got some food next door
