It was conveniently located for the station, metro, central Naples and local restaurants. It had a basic Italian restaurant with a discount for residents, but there are plenty of alternatives nearby. The street outside was a bit run down, and there was a lot of litter, uneven pavements, etc. This is central Naples! Personally I didn't feel threatened, but I can see others might do. The bed was comfortable and the room large, clean and quiet, overlooking a courtyard. The air-conditioning was effective but seemed to be stuck on a cold even when set to 24C! The fittings were a strange mix of new and old, some were stained or corroded. I didn't find any English channels on the TV, but this was the first hotel I have stayed in with a Bible for about 20 years!

Staff helpful, good breakfast, some minor attention required to cleanliness such as remote controls and whilst washed some stains on dooners. Otherwise cleanliness is fine, location very close to train station. Would stay here again.

Staff were very friendly though advised us of discount of using restaurant after we had used it. However restaurant has amazing food and happy enough to pay full price and again great staff. Not speaking enough Italian is my own fault but would have been useful to have at least an English speaking TV channel just for news.

The hotel is easy to find and conveniently close to the central train and bus stations. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom very good. The room was clean. Breakfast was a buffet - there was a good selection. The hotel is a little dated, not really a problem though. Our room overlooked a central courtyard that was quite scruffy. The streets around Naples are typically littered and smelly - clearly street cleaning is not the Councils priority.

Hotel is closer to the train station which is the good part but its not clean and doesn’t feel safe to walk around. Breakfast was good esp the coffee. Room was spacious but not very clean. Bathroom was good. Hotel staff was pleasant.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone coming to Naples. The staff was excellent in helping me to locate my room and the adjacent restaurant provided wonderful food and service. The property is located on a street that is not ideal but convenient to the train station and buses. The room was clean but not modern. It was perfectly adequate for my needs.

Avoid at all costs

The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Toilet is leaking and looks disgusting. The radiator is also leaking, I couldn't use my shoes after I left them next to it as they they were soaking wet. Everything else dated and falling apart.

4 night stay to explore Napoli

Stayed here as a base to explore Naples and visit Pompei/Vesuvius. Firstly - beware taxis from the airport. Should cost Eur20 to this hotel...but some will overcharge by a lot! Hotel is functional but in need of updating (paintwork, decoration, etc). Shower tray would flood unless you stopped the shower half way through to let the drains catch up. Location (right next to Naples train station) is very handy with a decent sized supermarket and plenty of shops nearby. We walked all over Naples directly from here. Breakfast selection was basic but workable. Good tea/coffee is served with breakfast...but unfortunately each guest is only allowed 2 each.

Disappointing

The room looked nothing like the photos. It felt cold and dark and creepy. The hallways were loud and heard easily from the room. You also had to use the key to lock the door, so you were literally locked in. Seems like a fire hazard. I would not stay here again.

Gratitude for peaceful and carefree stay.

Nice hotel with perfect service and lovely staff. I must mention something really special. About these lovely human beings on the reception. I think their names are Lisa and Mostafa. We have arrived with my daughter to the hotel one night after the day trip in Pompeii. We were thirsty and tha bar was closed. We have asked these lovely people about the drink possibilities. As the bar was closed they shared their personal drink with us without any hesitation and with smile. Very nice gesture of humanity that you do not see everywhere these days. Wholehearted gratitude.

It was a bit noisy at night there was a school of kids staying there.The staff of the students and staff of hotel didn’t stop them from knocking on doors of hotel residents.We didn’t have them knock on ours.But we could hear them laughing.Breakfast was good again we didn’t get good service from the waiter he cleared a table for the guest next to us.But didn’t tidy for us.Night sleep etc was gd.

I have no idea how this hotel has 4 stars. The street it’s on is really close to the train station which is very convenient however it’s really rough, trash everywhere and it feels like an unsafe area. When we got into the hotel we were very disappointed, the photos of the nice clean modern rooms must be airbrushed, because they do not look like the pictures at all. The walls were dirty and scuffed, all the laminate was peeling off the furniture and it was also scuffed and scratched, the grout was falling out of parts of the shower and was covered in mould/mildew, the shower head looked like it’s never been cleaned before, the lamps beside the bed weren’t even screwed in all the way and looked like they would fall off any second, the fridge didn’t work and there wasn’t even a kettle or anything, there were a load of ants crawling around on the floor and the towels smelt weird. We did get breakfast included which was nice and the main lobby looked nice but overall the only way this is a 4 star hotel is if it’s out of 10. Very disappointed, wouldn’t stay here again.

I'll start by saying, I will not stay at this hotel again. I travel on a city break weekend every month. For Easter I chose Naples and stayed at the Hotel Vergilius Billia for 3 nights. (Note, the check out is 10am!) This hotel gets a 5 / 10. My room was 'heartless'. Dim wore paint. Depressing. The hotel needs a MAJOR re-fit. The window view was to a grim inner courtyard. I kept the curtains shut as a result. There is no plastic key card but a heavy key from 1970s. Really? The receptionists weren't responsive to my few questions / requests. The wifi was on and then off and then on. There was a plastic covered notice on the bathroom wall about the shower basin filling up with instructions how to turn down the water pressure or remove the filthy cover over the drain. Really? Yes, my feet were swimming in a pool of water. The main hall floors had ceramic tiles and and every un-aware / ignorant guest would chat and discuss the day plans and the sound would carry down the hall into the room. A nap was impossible. If you want to sleep, don't stay here. And there was a fridge in the room. BUT, the fridge difused lots of heat adding to the carbon footprint, but was essentially useless. Nothing in the fridge was cold. They should just remove the fridge from the room. Guest services didn't care about my opinion about this. In summary, I would not stay at this hotel again.
