"I had a lovely time at the lodge. A great place to rest. Staff are very kind and friendly. The accommodations are basic but it’s all you need. It’s a good idea to bring water and some snacks with you. Food was delicious and plentiful however felt repetitive after 3 days. The grounds around the cabins are well kept but I was disappointed in the condition of the beach with lots of debris and garbage. I fully understand the tide brings it in everyday but I feel like once they cleaned up the beach along with the entrance to the walkways it wouldn’t take much to keep it nice. Snorkelling equipment is available but not free, $15 per day. Shark feeding excursion was definitely worth it. A must do!"
"A piece of heaven on earth, incredible views, snorkeling and scubba diving. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was social and inviting. The only poor review I would give this resort is the food, especially given the mandatory pricey meal plan, it was mediocre, run of the mill and uninspired,"
"For tourists who want a realistic understanding of Fijian culture in the Yasawa Islands and not a resort that could be anywhere in the world, this is the place! The sleeping accommodation is simple dormitory style divided by colourful curtains and buntings and each bed is provided with a mosquito net. The kitchen and eating area and another single room is further up the hill as is the house kitchen for the family and all meals are cooked here by your host Paula who is a very good cook. You will not be hungry! We ate a variety of meals which included taro, casava ,local potatoes, cabbage tomatoes, rice, and cucumber, Bill our host provided a fabulous amount of fish which we had in a number of ways, and was delicious. Paula makes amazing fried pastries with coconut flour which we had on more than one occasion for breakfast with bananas and pineapple,We were made to feel very much part of Bill and Paula's family and met their adult children and grandchild along with other family members who live in this part of the village. We were welcomed by the village in a formal cava ceremony. We attended celebrations and the community feasts that went with each event and observed how the community worked together to cater for these. We were part of a funeral ceremony and celebration of life, a first birthday party, Fiji Day, and 200 years of the Wesleyan Church in Fiji. These were celebrated with beautiful singing and decorations and food prepared by the community."
"We were picked up and brought directly to our homestay. Their son took us to snorkeling with the sharks, very happy and professional. We always felt safe and part of the family. A family member had passed away amd they included all 7 of the homeestays in all of the true Fijian traditions. We felt like honored guests. We would definitely recommend staying here."
"Had a wonderful time in Korovou eco resort. The staff, especially Aboo (sp?) were wonderful. Really enjoyed the medical talk and coconut demonstrations Aboo provided.
The seaview bungalow was rustic, but had everything you needed, except cold showers. It didnt bother us as after a cool snorkel we just rinsed off, but others that didnt snorkel were dreading their daily cold showers.
The view from our room was stunning, and for the price I think its the best place I've ever stayed!
The food was really great for the first 2 days, except on the last night they served us fish even though we were vegan. The next day the food wasnt as good (maybe the chef changed). That was probably the only negative experience during our 3 day stay,
The snorkelling off the beach was great - lotsa colourful coral and fish. Walked over the ridge to the other homestay and the snorkelling there had huge impressive coral (so highly recommended).
We brought our own snorkelling gear as I think they charged 10 per day.
Loved playing beach volleyball with all the Fijian locals (who are all really good).
Highly recommend staying here, as so relaxing, great value for money, nice staff, and you will meet nice like-minded other guests. Just a reminder this is not a 5 star resort with all the luxuries resort with 5 star prices. So dont book this place if you are super fussy, but if you want a local experience, right on the beach with peace and quiet and good food then this is your place!"
"Great island retreat to relax with great snorkeling as well as other activities. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice property to enjoy a real Fiji feeling on your vacation."
