About this property
Modern Luxury Log Cabin, Sleeps 22
A LODGE BUILT FOR THE TRIP EVERYONE STILL TALKS ABOUT
Something shifts on the second morning.
The first one is logistics — bags, bedrooms, who's driving. By the second, someone is up early with coffee on the front porch watching the light come up over the ridgeline, and it stops feeling like a rental. Guests keep telling us the same thing when they leave: we wish we'd stayed longer. We've heard it enough times to know it isn't really about the cabin. It's about what a big group turns into once the house gives everyone room to breathe.
THE TABLE IS THE POINT
Most large cabins scatter people. Someone gets stuck in the kitchen while everyone else disappears into another room, and the group spends the week reassembling itself.
We built this one around a single oversized dining table, set in the middle of an open great room under cathedral ceilings. Whoever's cooking is still in the conversation. Whoever's sunk into the couch by the stone fireplace is still in it too. The wet bar keeps drink-pouring out of the kitchen's way, and the kitchen is set up for a group that actually cooks.
One family put it better than we could: the centrally located dining table let "those cooking and those relaxing" all be part of the same conversation. That's not a happy accident. That's the floor plan.
AND THEN — ROOM TO DISAPPEAR
Big groups need the opposite thing too, and usually around 4pm.
There are several distinct common areas here, spread across separate levels, so people can peel off without retreating to a bedroom and closing the door. One guest called that out as the thing that made their stay work — it was great, they said, to find a place with a few different common areas "so people had their own spaces when they needed it without being confined to their rooms."
The teenagers take the game room with the pool table, ping pong, and arcade cabinet. Someone else takes the loft with a book. The porch takes care of everybody eventually. Floor-to-ceiling windows and mountain views from the front and the back of the house mean nobody's stuck with the bad seat.
EVENINGS ARE THE REASON PEOPLE COME BACK
The fire pit is where the trip actually happens. Groups bring s'mores fixings, somebody stays up too late, and the mountains go completely quiet.
The private hot tub looks out at the view — one guest called it "a dream." There's a pickleball court for the afternoon nobody feels like driving anywhere — bring paddles and a net.
More than one group has also had a bear wander through. "Up close and personal," as one family described it. We can't promise you one — but you're in the Smokies, and the wildlife doesn't check the reservation calendar.
EVERY BEDROOM HAS ITS OWN BATHROOM
This is the part multi-family groups care about most, so we'll be direct.
All six bedrooms have their own private en suite bathroom. Four have king beds. The other two are bunk rooms with a full king on the bottom and a queen above, so they work just as well for two couples as for a room full of cousins. No hallway bathroom negotiations, and nobody stuck sharing because they booked last. One group told us they fit seven couples in here comfortably — "everyone had their own space and privacy but was able to come together throughout the weekend." Past the six bedrooms there are sleeper sofas in the loft and the downstairs family room, which is how the house gets to 22.
The details are where guests notice this is new construction and not a tired rental: soft linens, plush towels, beds people describe sleeping "very soundly" in. More than one guest has told us the cabin looks better in person than in the photos. We take that as the highest compliment a listing can get.
A REAL PERSON ANSWERS
You're staying at a home, not a hotel, so here's what that looks like in practice.
A guest cut a finger on a broken glass and said we seemed more concerned about them than the glass. A door that wouldn't latch got fixed the same day, and the group barely noticed. Heavy rain caused a small leak once, and we were on it immediately. One family booked on their check-in day after their original rental fell through, and we got the house turned and ready for them.
Things happen on vacation. A lot of what you're really booking is how fast someone answers when they do.
WHEN YOU LEAVE THE MOUNTAIN
You're about 3 miles from central Pigeon Forge and The Island, 4 miles from Dollywood, and 6 miles from downtown Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Figure 12–15 minutes to the Parkway depending on traffic. Guests describe it the same way over and over: close to everything, but peaceful and private once you're back up the drive.
We host Dollywood trips, church groups in town for conferences, couples' weekends, and big multi-family weeks. The house handles all of them.
