"The overall aspect of the property was misleading, the property wasn't of a standard that I would expect from a Vrbo property or any rental property, the cleanliness was far from acceptable, massive cobwebs in a few rooms, stains on carpets, rugs that we really a bad trip hazards, the one at the top of the stairs which we moved, sofa bed not fit for purpose, stains on bedding, dishwasher didn't clean properly, no welcome pack, lights in the small bedroom wasn't working, mold and grime build up...

"A perfect welcome to the perfect cottage located in the most beautiful spot. Everything I needed was there. The cottage was superb. Helen and Claire made me welcome and went above and beyond, recommending walks and providing me with everyhing to make the most of a short stay. I would highly recommend this cottage and location. A short walk into town, but in the country, surrounded by birdsong and views, with great walks in your door step."

"This was our first time staying here and it certainly won't be our last. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has such a cosy and comfortable feel to it. The under floor heating kept it lovely and warm too despite the snow outside (which also made it super pretty). The outside space was so private and had a fantastic view over the fields and to the hills beyond. Our favourite thing was sitting out at night by the fire pit and relaxing, looking up at the stars. "We stayed in a master suite for one night. Overall, the room was nice and we were happy with this. However, in the morning we noticed the shower was broken, so we could not change the temperature and it was stuck on boiling. We let reception know who didn’t seem too bothered as we were leaving. The pool area was tired and there was a large amount of grit gathering in the corners of it which was off putting. The toilet area in the changing rooms was also extremely unhygienic. We decided to stay in the hotel for the evening as it was advertised as having two bars, one of which shut at 11, the other shut at 12. We went down at 9:15 to one being closed already and the other shut at 10:15. We would have gone out if we had have known they don’t stay open until advertised times. Finally, the floorboards above us wouldn’t stop creaking, so we were up from 6:30. Would make sure to pack some earplugs, I understand it is an older building but as a deep sleeper, wasn’t expecting to be woken up. Overall hotel looks lovely and the room was pleasant however a couple of things were disappointing. "

" What a fabulous hotel?! From the moment we arrived, we loved our stay! The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The hotel reception area is decorated to a high standard with a quirky twist. Our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed. Breakfast was one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever had.. and we have had a lot!!! We are telling everyone about this hotel and already planning our return visit! Thank you to all the staff"

"The hotel was dirty and old, they have drinks and snacks in the minibar fridge in room but no prices so you dont know how much it coast. The is a tv I want to log in to Netflix account or any other apps like YouTube did not work. The pool is always full because they do swimming classes for kids who are not guest of the hotel, everyday for 3/4 hours so you walk all the way to the pool from the other side of the hotel to be told is full and they don’t say come back in 30 mins they say nothing if you ask when should I come back the staff say I don’t know, I’m a paying guest I stayed here so I can use the pool but I can not use it when I want. The pool changing rooms are dirty with cloths or towels on floor no staff about to clean or 1 person at reception , pool is full even before u go to the pool outside the door the is a yellow floor sig saying pool full. So the expect you to walk back 20 mins letter to find out if the is space and if not walk back again I came here to relax. Do not stay here is the worse hotel I stayed in. "

"The spa changing rooms could do with a revamp - they are small, .cold and they don't smell great. More loungers around the pool area would add to the experience too. The corridor leading to the toilets off reception smells terribly and it was the same last time we stayed too, Other than that, the hotel is lovely, the food in the Palm Court is great and the breakfast great too. The treatments in the spa were also amazing. Bathrooms great in the rooms too."
