"Best to set your expectations from the start. Just because the name HILTON is attached to this property, it does not mean that it meets HILTON standards. It is a very old property that once was a Citadel used for military dorms. There is nothing upscale about this property. Housekeeping does come daily to make beds and change out towels which was nice. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There is always a concierge on site who can help, but be warned, he will try to sign you up for Hilton rewards, etc. The location was great, and we could walk everywhere. There is limited street parking so if you rented a car, Valet is $50/day."

"The first room we had checked into was an amazing view great room location however the AC broke and stopped working shortly after we arrived. The front desk immediately moved us rooms on the same floor, however that room was not in the best shape and there’s no curtains over the side window, so it was very bright in the morning being right above the lights for the entrance outside. The next morning we had asked if we could get the first room back once the AC has been fixed and Brandi said that room was not available. However, she had four other rooms that we could pick from and she took the time to show us each room and let us pick which one would work for our stay and we enjoyed the last four days of our stay with no complaints. The pool areas are very neat and kept clean. The staff was great. The location was great. We will definitely be back to visit. Big thank you to Brandi for going above and beyond For us!"

"Building is run down. Not updated . Even the bathtub was peeling . They even painted over lamp shades . Fixtures are rusted , carpets are all Stained . Elevator was broken for 2 days , you have to pay for daily parking . Staff didn't know how to fix tv . Made excuses . Broken furniture in room including bureau that couldn't open . Asked for room cleaning and they didn't do it then made excuses why . Listened to neighboring room all night yapping about their drug use . Only addressed concerns when i complained to corporate . And only refunded my parking fees which are a joke to begin with . I never asked for a discount . I just asked to have issues addressed but if you are going to refund money , you have to do better than that . Would not stay for free there ."

"The front desk agent was rude, unprofessional and nasty. She needs to be retrained or placed somewhere that she doesn’t interact with guests. She demanded that I leave or she would call the police. I worked as a hotel Front Office Manager and a Night Auditor for 16 years. This type of behavior is unacceptable. I now work for Abbvie. I will tell all of my co-workers as well as corporate not to patronize Hilton unless this employee is extensively retrained, moved to a non guest facing position such as housekeeping and/or terminated. What an awful experience with this staff."

"Great location. All rooms face the beach. Adjacent to the pier. At the end of Folly Road. Walk to all the shops and restaurants. They have nice beach chairs for guests. Just check them out/in. One ding … No free coffee except in-room brewer. Continuous improvement suggestion … Rooms are not carpeted. Understand, due to the sand. But a throw/area rug between the beds would be a nice add."
