The staff is the kindest and most amazing ! They were very flexible and supportive with an early check in and luggage storage. We heard the train but it wasn’t an issue at all for our sleep. The room was small but with a very lovely balcony. The bathroom was very spacious but a bit outdated. For the price and value I would stay here again.

There are better hotels in the area

Excellent location, hotel is ok but very noisy from other guests and sleep nearly impossible. Bedding unpleasant and smells of mould. Staff friendly and helpful apart from receptionist at 5am 31/05/2024, who was aggressive and rude, shouting at us (3 female travellers) even as we left the hotel outside on our last day. Unacceptable and disgusting behaviour towards paying guests.

The staff at Hotel Gaillon Opera were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the family size room we stayed in was nice. To note for families looking at this option, the kids’ beds were more like cots than sturdy beds — worked okay for a couple of nights, then kids were uncomfortable. The hotel was generally clean, although the family / attic room did have an ant situation. The hotel staff did address the ants when requested. I would be cautious of booking the room if you plan to have snacks and/or eat any meals in the room.

The staff was kind, but be aware the rooms are VERY minimal. Barely enough room to walk around the bed, and the toilet was right beside the bed; no door. Can be a good option if this doesn't bother you though!
