"Me and the wife had an absolutely wonderful time here. The seclusion and pristine beauty of the property is the best part about this place, but the cabin itself and the ability to have all the amenities of modern living should not be underestimated either. If you love nature but don't want to rough it too much this is the place to be. My wife was ecstatic as well to see the cows that wander the outside layer of the property. We very much look forward to future visits here when we need to get away from it all. The host was clear and concise with their communication and answered any questions we had, and very welcoming. I personally loved the big fireplace and keeping the fire burning for the warmth and ambience it made in the main room. Can't wait to come back! Also as a side note, if you're looking for a great breakfast, the town Monterey about 14 minutes away has one of the best places, The Curly Maple. I recommend the Belgian waffle breakfast."

"This is a beautiful historic inn. Shout out to Sandra, Brett and Veronica in the spa which is peaceful and well stocked. Robes are grubby looking but very warm whuch was needed. There was a scheduling mix up but the staff worked quickly to compensate for the inconveience. The check in desk was often busy. Lots of standing around and trying to fill out forms in a flimsy folder. Better to have a clip board. Spa was very clean. In the hotel, I saw room service trays and cleaning cloths left out. The room itself was clean and small but the desk was seriously scuffed. Not expected given such an expensive room. Nice size closet. Restaurants were all good but pricey. And it was not always clear which places were open. Signage in the lobby would help. The concierge desk had a trainee and was the one who did nit actually confirm our spa appointments correctly. We had booked a hike which was a definite highlight with Cooper. We also enjoyed the history tour. No good shuttle arrangements given we arrived by train. It ended up being $150 one way to get to Clifton Forge. The 260th birthday daily celebration was a treat with live pianomusic"

"Had a great stay very quiet. Very nice place and good supply of dishes and cookware. Clean cabin. Had a good time fishing. The water was as low as I have seen in 40 years of coming up there. I know that has nothing to do with the cabin. Would recommend the cabin for anybody that wants a quiet time in the mountains."
