I had an amazing stay at Antares!! Great staff, awesome food and love the pool. Great location to restaurants and only a 15 min walk to the mall. Loved it..

We stayed two nights at Hostel Antares. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We were in decent walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the beach. The staff was friendly, and some spoke English. The breakfast was good with a full bowl of delicious fresh fruit, coffee, juice, an egg and there was something else as well, but I can't remember what! The water from the tap is not filtered, so you will want to make sure to purchase some bottled water from a store, or you can buy some from their stocked mini fridge for a bit more. There was great security, and you had to be buzzed in an out of the front gate to come in or leave. The night we arrived, I was sick due to a crazy bus ride! They had plenty of power aid on hand for me, which was a huge blessing! We would stay here again.

Regretted this choice

I was given the lousiest room in the Hostel, facing to the backyard and to the wall of the opposite house. I.e. no view whatsoever, no balcony. Very dark. Distance to the sea is 100 meters - that is true: there is a steep hill full of garbage behind a rotten fence. Disgusting. At the weekend the pool area and the pool were occupied by families who did not necessarily live there. Because they wanted the payment as soon as I arrived, I stayed there several nights but I cannot recommend the place to anyone.

Good value for the money

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was adequate and the bed comfortable, but the shower was weak with limited warm water. The whirlpool was not operating but the pool was cool and refreshing. Need to be able to navigate stairs as there are no rooms on the main floor. Breakfast was limited but fresh... eggs cooked to order. A little hard to find as the entrance is not clearly marked. Only a block off the beach :)

I had a wonderful time staying here. The employees are VERY helpful and accommodating. I’m so glad I chose to stay here!! The location was wonderful as well as the service. I highly recommend! If you’re looking for a relaxing place to call home for the weekend, this is the place.

Antares is on a quiet street in an excellent location. We've looked at and stayed in a variety of hotels in Manta and Antares is an excellent value. This is not a 5 star hotel by any menas but compared to many of it's competitors in this price range it is a gem!
