Lumea by the Sea Long Beach Convention Center

"Lumea by the Sea is a hidden gem tucked into a DTLB neighborhood and is very walkable to nearby restaurants and attractions. If you’re looking for a short stay at a relatively reasonable rate and don’t need a lot of extras, this is a good option. The hotel is fairly basic and does not offer many additional amenities. Breakfast is available for an extra charge, but I didn’t feel it was worth the additional cost. Parking is offsite, arranged through the hotel, and cash only. Be aware that the rate can change depending on local events. When we arrived, we were quoted $20, but by the second day it increased to $40 because of an event. There is also an extra charge for early check-in. Overall, guest service was pleasant and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, one older woman at the front desk, whom I presumed may have been the owner or manager, did not greet or acknowledge us at check-in, which felt noticeably less welcoming. I’d recommend Lumea by the Sea for a short DTLB stay if location, walkability, and a reasonable room rate are your priorities. The stay was comfortable, but I missed the amenities of larger hotels, designated parking at set rates, and fewer add-on charges. It was different from what I typically prefer, but still a decent option for a short or last minute stay."

"The service was amazing from the staff. The room was very refreshing and cleaned. The view was amazing. The air conditioner was excellent. The food was just OK. It was buffet style continental it was good and departing was quick. Highly recommend it will return."
