"we loved our stay i. this beautiful home with beautiful views from the ridge. the host was very helpful and hospitable and spent a lot of time explaining the area to us. The house was amazing, clean and modern, and with comfortable beds and everything you needed in the kitchen. the game room was lots of fun! we were a group of friends on a hiking trip to Michigan. we were all very comfortable in this beautiful home. The only thing we would have liked is somewhere to sit outside for a meal. There were some chairs but no table close by. We made do with some other outside chairs and overall we loved this home…. great home in a great location and not far from town and close to Pictured Rocks. We would rent this home again!Thank you JD for sharing your beautiful home!"

"Very pleased the kitchen & bathes-were fully stocked with everything needed, would like to have had the floors to be cleaner… our white socks were gray with walking across floor. Definitely would love to stay again!!"
Agate Beach House - waterfront in Grand Marais

"We loved our stay at the Agate Beach House. It is such a fun place to stay. We woke up every morning to a beautiful view. We enjoyed the decks and the beautiful yard. The house is a quick walk away from Agate Beach which is great for rockhounds. We were there Labor Day weekend, so the parking lot at the beach did get busy during the day and also at night with people looking for Yooperlights. It was fun watching everyone coming and going and super easy when we wanted to join in the hunt for rocks. The deck on the garage is great for stargazing and enjoying the morning sun. The deck off the back was peaceful, and more private. Inside, the house is vintage but very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. There were board games and plenty of books around for additional entertainment. There is no air conditioning at the house, but there are plenty of windows and great air flow throughout the house. The host also has plenty of fans available, if needed. The beds were comfortable with extra blankets available. Our host, Molly, was very easy to contact, and quickly responded to any questions. If we find our way back up to Grand Marais, we plan to stay at the Agate Beach House again!"

"Absolutely beautiful home! The house was clean, cozy, and even better in person. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our time in Grand Marais. Everything felt very comfortable and welcoming, and you could tell a lot of care was put into the home. The location was great as well, and we really enjoyed our stay. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again!"

"Location was great, close to town. Loved the fire pit in the backyard. Lots of parking. We were happy to see a charcoal grill available. I appreciated the host checking to make sure we were able to get settled in. Would stay again when we travel to Grand Marais."

"Charming little old house. Great if you have dogs for back yard. Stairs are a bit narrow so just be careful with that. House was clean. Lots of items supplied to use for beach trips if you forget anything. Books about rock hunting. Walking distance from the coffee shop, beach and main part of town. Great place to stay. Little pricey imo but given the destination it’s worth it!"
Plover Retreat - Cute Cabin Close to Town, 5 min. from beach

"Plover Retreat was clean and cozy. Our dog truly enjoyed the area to run around in the yard. Perfect walking distance to Grand Marais. Very comfortable sleeping. A few suggestions : improve signage re: the dangerous hill down to the stream. Update the info re the beach. It is definitely more than a 5 min walk. It took us a few tries to figure out we needed to search for the path on Ellen St. it is not well marked. We were not sure if we were crossing private property. Once we found the beach, it was delightful! I would suggest adding more glassware and pots and pans with lids that match for cooking. Otherwise we had a wonderful time with plenty of solitude, exploration and joy in Grand Marais. Thank you."
