About this property
2 Bed in Abergavenny (oc-66630)
Whilst you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity you are just a short distance from the villages of Pandy and Longtown both offering good village pubs. The perfect location to explore the Black Mountains with access to the Skirrid just a short distance away and the Sugar Loaf, join the Offa’s Dyke pathway which will take you deeper into the countryside. Also great for touring the foodie town of Abergavenny with regular markets and a fabulous food festival in September, picturesque Crickhowell, Hay-on-Wye with an eclectic range of book shops that all celebrate the book festivals throughout the year, Herford which houses Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library, make the most of the Herefordshire countryside and follow the Great Cider Route, or join in the many local produce festivals.
Drive through the gates and take the small gravelled track across the meadow where you will gain your first glimpse of this traditional stone barn and Sugar Loaf mountain, the old stone and large wooden shuttered windows blend sympathetically onto the rugged landscape. The large front door gives access into the open-plan living area, the vaulted ceilings with original exposed beams are a pleasant surprise on any visit. The lounge/kitchen/diner has been configured well into the space with a raised lounge area offering large sofas and armchairs that front the free-standing wood burner, with wooden floors and large picture windows that bring in the natural light and offer views over the countryside. The dining table will easily accommodate six guests and takes centre stage within this large room. The kitchen area is set to the side, contemporary in style and well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. Step down into the hallway which will give access to a king-size bedroom, a peaceful retreat with large windows offering views onto the open fields, there is an en-suite shower and WC. There is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Continue up the stairs where you will find a twin room set within the eaves, with small shuttered windows offering stunning views. There is also a mezzanine on this floor that looks over the living space a great place to escape with a good book.
