The room was nice. My first room had a problem with the A/C and it never got cold during July. They did move us to a new and better room the next day to make up for a hot night. It was clean, and they gave free water bottles.

The room was perfectly clean, bed and pillows comfortable, shower was plenty hot and large. Older building conveniently located directly next to the treasury bldg and behind that the east wing of the WH. Easy walking to restaurants. Elevators are old with no a/c. Rooftop bar (Vue) was mostly without a/c and crowded. Hotel entry is a darker hallway and lobby is unassuming.

This hotel is pretty well located and maintained, however, the check-in staff mentioned that breakfast was included when I checked-in. The next morning we go to breakfast and told about the offerings, then a second staff member comes after we start grabbing food demanding for vouchers. Since we were also asked to pay nearly $70 at check-in after prepaying the room, we weren't clear what she's talking about, no manager was available, and we just left breakfast. This also happened to another guest who was at breakfast at the same time. After asking what the $70 charge was about, the front desk said it's for Wi-Fi and other "amenities" offered by the hotel. Given that we got no housekeeping the next day or other "amenties" this charge seems rather criminal.

This hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful! Great place to stay near Union station and the capital!

We loved our stay at the property, but would not say that it is comparable to other five star hotels like The Plaza in NYC. There was no doorman or porter to assist with transportation or luggage which is normally something that makes our stay so much easier. The room was well appointed and the linens were luxurious and bed was very comfortable. Our room was very quiet- even in a very busy part of town. Our package came with free breakfast for two and a bottle of wine. We did not get the bottle of wine upon check-in and I had to ask for it the second day when I realized it was included. The on-site restaurants for both breakfast and dinner were disappointing. Three out of the four times that we dined in them there here was no host at the stand and the one time that there was they were on their phone texting. The weight staff rarely came back to check on food quality or to see if we needed anything else during our meals. This took away from the overall experience of the hotel.
