Very friendly check in and reception. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast from great look out point. Set right in the ancient city which is great but made parking a challenge (park in free city lots/street).
Breakfast was a slight let down for this price point. Service could be slow, forgetting items. Overall concept rather fussy with lots of served small items rather than choice/buffet. Also it grates to have paid a significant B&B rate only to be charged top up amounts for cooked items like eggs Benedict.
Food in in house Trattoria restaurant is ok rather than excellent (you are paying a location premium) I’d suggest eating in Rabat

First time in Malta. Specifically chose this hotel as I wanted accommodation in Valetta close to St John's Cathedral and Valetta Harbour, though Valetta is only 1km x 1km so any accommodation within the city walls would have been sufficient.
This hotel is on a very popular street with several restaurants all with tables and chairs in the street and all competing with each other to play the loudest music. This is no unusual in Valetta but it is excessive.
Although local signage asks for quiet after 11pm this happened once, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday exessive noise went on until after midday, on Thursday and Friday it was after 1am, my 1st Saturday excessive noise went on until 3am.

8.4/10 Very Good! (1,000 reviews)
"The room (superior double) was fine, if a little tired. Comfortable beds and decent air conditioning. However the shower was (partly) broken and the housekeeping was very hit and miss. We were left without pillowcases and a bath mat at times. Breakfast was very busy and cramped - we had to wait around ..."
