"Loved the heritage of the convent, the spaciousness of the accommodation, the beautiful garden, the location near Leura, the kitchen and the homeliness of the rooms with everything you could need, including a good library of books! Very comfortable. Downsides were the noise from the highway and the railway that had traffic and trains going all night. We had hoped for a quiet location. "

"This is a well-appointed, stylish, comfortable and extravagantly spacious residence with two complete bathrooms and a full kitchen. The property is in very good condition and the generous array of faux-period furnishings are both tasteful and comfortable. Everything expected was there and it mostly worked as expected – see below for what didn’t. The two king beds were comfortable, the linens crisp and clean and we are all able to find a satisfactory pillow. The bathrooms are commodious, well appointed and the plumbing worked well. We scored one of the onsite parking spaces but there’s plenty of adjoining street parking if you miss out. Mandalay’s proximity to Leura’s downtown centre was especially welcome. The not so good: The booking process through VRBO started out well but once handed off to the host/manager, Serain Residences, deteriorated into a rabbit-warren of information exchange and correspondence that would probably have been less cumbersome if we had been buying the place. The bad: the TV remote control did not work, and a change of batteries did not fix it. While rummaging around trying to operate the TV without the remote, it became evident that shelf containing all the attendant apparatus had not been cleaned for an eternity which made us wonder where else in the place might have been so afflicted."
