Nice Centre Hotel

6/10 Okay

"There have been many reviews previously about how tired this hotel is and how desperately it needs to be refurbished and modernised. I find it very telling that the hotel has no Marriott Bonvoy signage or branding outside and within the hotel. The pool area is shabby as are the common areas, even reception is dark and uninviting. The junior suite we stayed in was a good size and with a lick of paint and the bathroom refreshed so the toilet is not in a dark cupboard like room, it would be lovely. Oh yes, a new softer mattress and less concrete looking balcony with less tatty furniture would be good too. One last moan would be to have proper coffee and teacups and glasses in the room as well as a bottle opener. I was astonished to only find cardboard cups in the room of a 4 star hotel. We did ask for some proper cups but they did not materialise so we gave up. This is such an easy fix. To end on a positive, the location is great, the parking is next door with a discounted rate from the hotel and lastly when the Hotel Nice Centre has some money spent on it, it will be fabulous."

"Very nice and historic hotel great location and we had a great room with partial sea view which was breathtaking with a nice balcony The downside for an historic hotel is the decor all antique and again that’s wonderful for a person who appreciates not my wife The breakfast was wonderful but the dinner we had was ok I was expecting better quality of steak Very friendly and professional staff best part free valet and great spa Too bad Nice doesn’t have a sandy beaches"

"We had a beautiful stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, the front desk staff were so helpful and nice, the breakfast was yummy and more than anything it was super affordable. If you want easy and comfortable accommodations overlooking the beach you won't be disappointed."

"Daily breakfast was wonderful. For the amount that we paid, service was subpar. In Italy, for this caliber of hotel, the staff all knew our names and greeted us daily by name. Here, they were often unable to get our breakfast order correct.. the all you can eat buffet saved it though, excellently prepared food with lots of fruits and fruit drinks. Gym was mediocre, but with the proximity to the promenade it was ok, since we were able to run 5-10k daily outside anyway. All in all, the hotel would be better priced at 300-600$/night max! Not worth over 1k/night, decently not worth the 2k+/night price we paid!"
