Hotel La Palma

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel La Palma exceeded our expectations and is one of the finest hotels we’ve stayed at on Lake Maggiore. We booked a Deluxe Lake View Room on the 6th floor, and it was absolutely spectacular. The spacious terrace, complete with a table and comfortable outdoor sofa, offered breathtaking views of the lake and was the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. The amenities are outstanding. The gym and spa, also located on the 6th floor, are beautifully designed and impeccably maintained. The rooftop Sky Bar on the 7th floor is a wonderful spot for aperitivo while watching the sunset over Lake Maggiore. The hotel also features a gorgeous rooftop pool as well as a massive lakeside pool with incredible panoramic views—both perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast each morning was exceptional. The buffet offered an extensive selection of fresh pastries, fruits, cheeses, meats, eggs, made to order items, and just about anything you could want to start the day. The staff throughout the hotel were warm, professional, and attentive, providing excellent service from check-in to departure. The only drawbacks were that our room was directly beneath the Sky Bar, so the music and activity could be heard into the evening. We also noticed cigarette smoke drifting down from guests at the Sky Bar and from neighboring balconies, which occasionally made it difficult to enjoy our own terrace. Despite those issues we loved our stay."

"We needed a place to stay before an early flight out of Malpensa. Hotel Villa Malpensa is a 5 minute drive from the airport and stunning. Also a much more fun choice than the airport hotels… We had drinks at the bar and dinner in the restaurant, followed by breakfast the next morning. All were good, thankfully, considering they are the only options - there is nothing else nearby. Breakfast starts at 6am which was helpful for our early flight. Our free shuttle was ready for us promptly at 7am. Great experience overall!"

The staff are incredibly warm and helpful; the location is fantastic --with breath-taking views; the swimming pools and spa are top-notch; the restaurant food and service are excellent. It is an easy walk to Stresa, where we enjoyed shopping and drinks. I simply cannot say enough good things about our stay! I give this hotel my highest recommendation."
