"We had a lovely stay in this apartment, very clean and well equipped. We will definitely be back. Itâ€™s very well placed for visiting Hadrians Wall. We travelled by train and found the bus service more than adequate for our needs. The bus stop is outside the apartment. Also there is a range of shops and eateries. On Wednesday in the market square there was a pop up rice van selling take away food."

"Set in gorgeous surroundings, the field barn has everything you need for a rural retreat. "The staff were exceptional.. kind, helpful and nothing was too much. The room was tired, the sink didn't drain well, the door had a large dent that looked like it had been kicked in and just then general condition was a bit tired but the hotel, breakfast and grounds were stunning. The pool was wonderful and we could swim without buying additional spa access which was nice. The female changing rooms laked areas of privacy to change, only having one small changing room. It would be nice to have more changing cubicles for women who aren't as confident getting naked in front of strangers!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. The room was basic, but clean and adequate. The bed was comfortable. We ate dinner there as well and it was delicious. The breakfast was good. My husband got the full English and I got scrambled eggs and bacon. The scrambled eggs seemed to be the rehydrated kind, but otherwise the meal was good. We would stay here again. "

"Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. But all in all a very pleasant stay and reasonable value for money and would return. "
