"Initial impression wasn’t great as, lifts were out of order, carpet in public areas appeared to need a wash and card entry system on outside wall was broken. Staff were very helpful as I was able to leave my case before check in. This meant I could tour Lancaster. Room was clean and outside noise in evening was negated by the earplugs supplied. I would visit again if I was in the area."

"There was a 30° heatwave on our stay and although they are not responsible for the weather the small tower fan in our sun faceing room was totally inadequate, the room was boiling hot all the time especially at night, so no sleep at all for the 5 days. They need air con or at least ceiling fans installed. It spoilt an otherwise great stay. We stayed last year and was also very hot in the room and that was just a normal May day of 18 ° Wouldn't stay again because of this issue. Otherwise it's a good hotel."

"What a splendid stay overnight. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There was free parking right outside. Eat as much you want breakfast with ample selection And a great sea view while you eat. The bathroom was a little tired but otherwise a great place to stay and will definitely stay again and recommend this place."

"We loved our stay at The Royal, right from the off the manager was really lovely helping us with parking, check in was also really simple. The room was stunning, comfortable and really well stocked! Location wise it's right on the doorstep of the city centre, the pub itself was great too loads of choice of beers, board games etc. Honestly couldn't fault it! Special thanks to the bar manager she really looked after us, we'll definitely be coming back!"
