The pool was closed for renovations until October, and unfortunately we weren’t informed of this at the time of booking or during check‑in. We walked to the Boat House for dinner, but were told the kitchen was backed up due to a large private event. There was no offer to sit at the bar or at any of the open poolside tables while we waited. Later, while sitting on the couches at the front of the hotel near the donut shoppe, a staff member approached us and said "you can't just sit here" because his manager was watching. It was an uncomfortable interaction, especially since the seating area was open and unoccupied. My husband and I have always enjoyed our trips to Ft. Lauderdale and have made Riverside our preferred place to stay whenever possible. This visit, however, was very disappointing, and it has left us reconsidering whether we will stay here in the future.

When we first arrived at the hotel the staff Clariza or Clarisa was very rude and disrespectful. She told us about a reservation fee and I asked for more clarification regarding that fee. She got smart and snatched the card and said it’s $165 along with a $250 deposit.
