Air conditioner was broken the building during our 2 day stay. Drug users and homeless were prevalent in the streets next to the hotel.

Hotel Monopol is a beautiful hotel with lots of character. It's location is very convenient with how close it is to the main train station, but that also means there is train noise. The immediate area is a bit dingy as well. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a nice bathroom and fans to keep it cool. It was generally clean, except for a few key spots that were missed. The breakfast was generous and tasty. Our only complaint is that the beds are not comfortable.
